Pretty building, nice staff, shame about the room

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: The hotel interior is very beautiful and the pool and jacuzzi are excellent guest perks.
Cons: Free WiFi, a mini-fridge and more reasonable restaurant prices.
Location: Lots of eateries, bars and attractions within a 5-10 minute walk.
The hotel is very ornate and attractive, with marble work and luxurious carpeting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The utilities include a decent sized pool and jacuzzi, which were very enjoyable. Unfortunately the room was very standard: the shower had no curtain or guard, so the bathroom got soaked every use. There was no mini-fridge, so the hotel missed out on a tidy little alternative to room service (and I missed out on being able to chill some snacks from a nearby shop). There is also no free WiFi. For £90 a night, it seems odd to provide a pool but no Internet access! The restaurant and bar is also ridiculously overpriced (£5 for a pint). There are much swankier and cheaper eateries within a 5 minute walk, so again this feels self-defeating.

Tired and overpriced.

The room was small and stuffy. There is no air conditioning in the guest rooms although we were kept awake by the noise of an air conditioning unit on a nearby building. The mini bar was not stocked presumably because it was broken as one one of the two lifts serving six floors. Not worth the price. Avoid.

It is not a Hilton

Posted 09-Jul-2015
I arrived to be put in in a tiny room which was hot because it turns out it is not airconditioned. I complained, they moved me to the top floor. There the toilet flush, the toilet fan the aircondition, didn't work properly in addition to the wifi which was undtable because the floor was out of the router's reach. An unpleasant stay.

Positiv ovarrasket

Posted 09-Jul-2015

Classic hotel by the sea

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Missed having a fridge in the room and why ,just like many other hotels, do they have to charge for internet in the rooms?
Location: Smack in the middle of Brighton whichever way you turn theres something to do.
Grand hotel at first impression and must say not disappointed with the rooms.

Old dame with plenty of panache

Posted 07-Jul-2015
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Yes, certainly in need of some TLC, but the Brighton Hilton Metropole has bags of character and old world style. The staff were great, and happy to supply robes, slippers and chairs for our balcony (we had been promised robes and slippers when booking, but they were not in the room on arrival). The mini bar fridge was out of order, but staff tried unsuccessfully to rectify this. Provided plenty of ice for our champagne instead! The bed was sublime. Really looking forward to a return visit.

Run down and in desperate need of work

Posted 06-Jul-2015
we parked our car in the car park and followed the signs out. After walking round in circles for ten minutes we finally escaped. Checked in having booked a double bed oh to be given 2 singles. Entered new room to find it was already occupied. No mini bar. AC noisy. Bathroom run down. Not worthy of the Hilton brand

Nice hotel close to beach and shops

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Pros: The staff were welcoming and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean. The afternoon tea was delicious
This was a short break and although I had read some comments about the hotel staff being unhelpful I found them all very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed on arrival that the swimming pool was closed but we had our room upgraded and the reasons were explained to us. The upgraded room was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

A Little Disappointing

Posted 30-May-2015
Pros: Room size was nice and clean staff were friendly although service was slow
Cons: They need to be more family orientated , and service could be quicker .They also have slow cramped dilapidated lifts.Facilities in the spa are dirty
Location: very good location ,close to everything
Check in .very nice staff but very slow , Room very nice however they could have told us that they were pulling up the carpet right outside in the morning which made it very noisy and sticky when you left the room Also AC very noisy The hotel is not very family orientated .The pool facilities can only be used until 6 pm and as you can't get in your room until past 4pm due to check in queue .I think they should extend this to 7 30 pm . Also breakfast for a family is over £50 and no concessions
