Dated Rooms and very overpriced.

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Very courteous Staff.
Cons: Yes!! Update all rooms and an offer or refund for such disappointment.
Upon arrival at the hotel I was immediately impressed with the oppuelent decor of the reception area and bar. When I was taken to my room, I was totally disgusted, by the very tired and extremely dated tiny room. A little luxury was at least expected. I complained to the reception of my severe disappointment, to be offered an alternative room which was merely a little better as it had been apparently been refurbished ! When ? I asked myself ,in approx 1980 by the look of it.I can only say that this surprise birthday weekend for my partner turned out to be very expensive and worse value for money I have ever spent and was very upset which ruined, what should have been a lovley weekend. These rooms should bee at least half of ?199 pounds and that would still be too expensive. To sum it up totally disgusted.

OK Hotel in a great location

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: We loved the location.
Cons: The beds and the soundproofing could be improved.
The hotel is in a great beach front location and is convenient to many shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, the bed was rock hard and our room was located above one of the conference rooms where a band played late into the night.

Hotel from Hell

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Nothing. Spencer the concierge deserves a pat on the back as he tried his hardest to help us sort things out - as did the Dining room staff.
Cons: Reception Staff should be fluent in English and should be able to sort out the appalling situation in which they put me.
Location: Royal Pavilion Brighton was excellent as was the open top bus service.
I paid for a single room - not a cupboard. I ended up in Room 100 - which does not officially exist according to some of the staff. I think I was actually in staff quarters because doors were opened and slammed all night long. My window would not open over a few inches - in case of falling out I was told. What a laugh! The roof was right under my window and I was looking across the roof into someone else's room - that was the view - it admitted no sunlight whatsoever. I had an old phone - I was supposed to press MAGIC if I needed anything - none of the buttons were marked with anything at all. The towel rail in the bathroom had rusted and the tiles on the floor were coming up. It was not worthy of two stars - leave alone four. And then, to crown it all, there was no power to my room on my last night and I had to pack in the dark and move rooms at midnight. It was a truly awful hotel which ruined my holiday.

Rating is misleading

Posted 29-Aug-2014
Pros: Nothing
The lady that checked in was very unreceptive and the rooms are what you get from Premier Inn or Best Western. We've stayed in a few Hilton Hotels and this is the worst ever. The most shocking of it all was the bathroom that had mildew and the rooms with dirt by the side of the bed. I will never recommend this Hotel and its a disgrace that it has the Hilton Group associated with it.

Great location but disapointing room

Posted 27-Aug-2014
The view walking outside the hotel was great. It's in a fairly good location. The pool was very nice. The room had no air conditioning. We had a lousy fan. The bed was hard. The toilet didn't flush properly and the decor left a lot to be desired. Some of the channels on the television lacked sound. I would not stay here again. It was very over priced for what we got.

Very expensive shoe cupboard!

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: The workers, staff , very kind and polite.
Cons: Cleanliness and the room I stayed in needs a total overhaul . Also breakfast should always be included.
Very expensive and didn't include breakfast. The staff who checked me in were lovely and kind , and doing a great job. The hotel though was slightly grubby and down at heel and very overpriced.
