Excellent, stylish hotel on the seafront

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Cons: I think that we shall book a larger room next time, hopefully with a King Size bed.
Location: We were there simply to relax, though the flourishing town centre was also within easy walking distance. Concerts at the bandstand most enjoyable.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The greatest asset of the hotel is its staff who were, without exception, cheerful, welcoming and helpful. The public rooms are magnificent, yet comfortable, the restaurant is certainly recommended, but there is also a bar with bar food available and a sea view while you eat.

Like going home

Posted 11-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything. I', not going to say more, because I just love this place.
Cons: I can't really think of anything. It would be great if it had a swimming pool, but then again, it's bang opposite the sea!
Location: No. People can look this up for themselves. I am not the tourist board!
This hotel is relaxed, friendly, smart, comfortable...all the good things rolled into one. And it's also surprisingly reasonable for a hotel with genuine four star service.

Great location on the sea front

Posted 07-Sep-2014
Pros: Inclusive breakfast which was first rate and had a great choice to suit all.Car parking
Cons: From a personal point of view nothing.
Location: We lived in Eastbourne for many years and returned to visit friends,so nothing new to see.
Very welcoming and the plus factor is the on site car parking.Staff most polite and wanted to make sure that our stay was enjoyable.

Lovely hotel, shame about the staff

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Very clean and modern, family rooms very spacious
Cons: Staff training, telling customers all info prior to arrival, as knowing my son wouldn't be allowed to watch the entertainment we wouldn't have booked
Location: On Eastbourne front, town centre short walk away, pier, tourist train, open top buses
Hotel itself was lovely, our room was very spacious and well kept. We stayed for bed & breakfast and had a good choice of food for breakfast. The only let down was the staff, on check in (with our young son with us) we were told about the nights entertainment, where it will be & what time etc, only to be told once we made our way to the entertainment that we can't take our son in to watch it as its in a bar area and its the local councils policy that children would not be allowed to watch entertainment in a bar area. Found this was obviously not the case as we were able to watch the evening entertainment in a bar area at a neighbouring hotel. Found staff very inconsistent, some very willing to help and others who seemed as they had better things to do.

Eastbourne Airborne Visit

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: Location. The old style of the hotel appeared to have been beautifully renovated. All staff very friendly, but not loud or indiscreet.
Cons: The spa was not available and no mention was given in the booking that it would not be open.
Location: Pier was closed, however, seafront is great and air show stalls were nearby.
Apart from the weather (and the pier), everything was perfect for our three days in Eastbourne. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. The location (side sea-view) was not expected but totally enjoyed and we were close to the bandstand and were entertained both evenings! Breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff were helpful and accommodating towards children and the over 90 in our family group. As we had travelled to Eastbourne to see the airshow, just outside The Cavendish was a perfect location for watching this and going to the seafront market. The Reception/Cafe/Bar were also the ideal places for our mother to spend her time whilst the younger members of the family group went for a walk. We also spent the evening after our dinner in the Library playing scrabble - great fun!

Good position near the band stand

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: Location and value for money.
Cons: Hair conditioner to go with the shampoo provided.
Location: Walking distance to the railway station (10 mins) and close to all the Eastbourne action on the seafront
We stayed here for the Eastbourne Air Show and the location was perfect. Excellent meal in the bar in the evening and a good choice at breakfast.

Nice hotel - close to the beach

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly... I booked a executive room, the room allocated didn't have much light and the view was of a wall. When I asked for a room with a better view not necessarily a sea view but room with better lighting coming in, I was surprised to hear that I would need to downgrade to a standard room. I asked what was the difference between a executive room and standard, the answer, with a executive room you receive air con, robe and slippers. So if you would like to get a room with sea view, you don't need to book a executive room. The hotel on the whole clean and tidy.

Not enough access to the outside

Posted 07-Aug-2014
Location: Not enough seating areas on the prom
Single rooms were small & rather dark, large double ones were brighter
