The overall experience was great. Comfortable room, nice swimming pool, and easy parking place pleased me. But if there was one thing that was not so up to my expectation, it was the location, which was a little bit far from downtown. But generally it was still good. And I'm pleased to recommend it.
First room the mini fridge was so loud had to unplug it. Could not figure out how to get deadbolt on door in open position to close door moved to another room had same problem but figured out had to just push handle to close it lol. Besides my boyfriend singing in the shower place was quaint
"Nice hotel, but very rude drum sets below our room"
Stayed here with my wife for KDF weekend. Our room was on the 3rd floor.
The hotel is beautiful and very nice with great staff and wonderful rooms.
Not so great is how we were woken up the next morning.
We have family in Kentucky that we see them once a year so we stayed at their house until 1am and came back to the hotel around 2 and slept. At 8am(Sunday morning) we were woken up by a very loud drum. Yes, a DRUM SET. It was so loud that I could distinctly hear the snare and bass drum. I stuck my head out into the hallway and apparently I wasn't the only one to hear it. Many people were wondering if it was the rooms next to them because it was so loud.
That went on until about 11am, but that was only because we left and checked out because we were tired of the noise. We went down stairs and apparently they have a church permanently located on the second floor. I think it's nice to give people that option, but drumsets?!! Really!!? You are subjecting your paying customers to loud music at 8 in the morning? I'm not a light sleeper either.
I go to the KDF every year and am seriously debating coming back to this hotel. Only way I would do it is if I was put on the 5 floor, minimum. Suggestion to the hotel management/owner. If you are going to have drumsets and choirs on a floor right below where people sleep, then you seriously need to sound proof that room. Because you are driving customers away.
Enough of my rant. Besides that our stay was great!
What can I say about my visit to the Courtyard by Marriott in East Louisville other than “A Perfect Stay”…Upon arrival I was greeted with “Welcome” and a smile…The lobby area was very modern and NICE!! I had requested an early arrival and arrived at 1pm and was promptly checked in with no problem (normal check-in is at 3pm). My room was on the fourth floor overlooking the courtyard and pool (nice view). The room was immaculate and I LOVED the red accent walls behind the bed and in the bathroom. There was no fridge or microwave in my room like at some of the other Courtyards that I’ve stayed in but since I was only there for one night it was no biggie. My room was right around the corner from the elevator and I heard nothing… It was very quiet in the hotel. The bed was nice and comfy (not too hard or soft)…The water temperature/pressure in the tub/shower was awesome…There is a Cuisinart single serve coffee maker for those like me who like that one cup of coffee in the morning…The hotel is very close to lots of stores and restaurants, a lot within walking distance. Overall it was a most perfect stay and I will definitely return to this hotel when I come back to Louisville.
I booked this hotel based on price and the fact I did not want to spend a lot of money on a room I'd hardly be in. The staff was friendly, room was clean and the bed was comfy. King was really a king non-like some places that say queen and you get a double. I plan on staying here for my future visits to the area.
