I had a 17 hour road trip. I just needed to break up the long drive with a re-energizing night cap. Everyone was nice and the room was clean and inviting with a comfy bed. I choose Red Roof for it's convienence and price point.
The hotel was great. I had a quiet corner of the complex. The pool was cleaned every morning, but should have probably been cleaned more often. While my experience with the hotel staff was pleasant enough, my sister had several issues with them telling her a room would be ready and it was not ready for 3 hours and several promptings later. They also offer the opportunity to conserve the environment by hanging up your towels and they won't give you new ones everyday. I did this, but sill ended up with fresh towels everyday, so I guess their sign is merely for show.
Staff was pleasant upon check in. The wifi was a little hit and miss in our room, which was disappointing. The hot tub didn't work!!! We had been traveling all day and really looked so forward to relaxing in the hot tub. We reported that it wasn't working. After quite a while, someone from maintenance arrived to check out the problem, announced that he didn't know what to do, and left. We toweled off and went back to our room. : ( Overall, i would recommend the hotel. Our room was comfortable and the location and parking were good. There are just improvements and attention to detail that can be made.
Although, the room was nice and clean, we chose this airport because we thought it was close to the airport. I believe it's listed as 0.51 miles from airport but it's a ways away especially if you don't know your way around El Paso. There are many other hotels located much closer to the airport.
East El Paso, the fastest growing area of El Paso, lies east of the Franklin Mountains which basically divide El Paso into two sections. Fort Bliss, in the eastern section, is one of the largest military complexes of the U.S. Army, with training areas extending north into New Mexico. El Paso, home to the University of Texas at El Paso, stands on the Rio Grande River, across the border from Mexico.
