“I Will Return!”

While I cautiously booked this over the internet, based on it's close proximity to the Airport and seeing slightly better reviews than the other well known Hotel, I was VERY pleasantly surprised! This is a hidden GEM of a hotel. Convienent as it is essentially attached to the airport with a covered walkway leading to the main terminal about 150 yards, 125 meters away. The hotel is amazingly clean, modern and convienent! We pulled right up unloaded, went to the city, (if you have never enjoyed Dusseldorf, we found it to be a delightful city with a vibrant old city and waterfront), drove back, gassed up and returned our car all within a couple of hundred meters form the hotel. The next morning my wife flew to Chicago at 6 am and I to Russia at 11:00am. I was able to see her off and go back to sleep for a couple of hours, I then checked one bag from our earlier travels at the bag storage to pick up on my return home, checked in and went to Starbucks. Of all the so called 4 star hotels we stayed at with disappointment on this trip, this was a delight and earned my business for any future travels that take me to Dusseldorf!

Area recommendations

Drive or take the train into Dusseldorf as the old city is vibrant with amazing restuarants, pubs, curry worst, pork legs and beer. We were most pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the evening very much. A step above our earlier travels within the NL.

“Convenient to airport”

Great hotel. Four weeks traveling Europe, this was one of the best. Very modern, clean and comfortable. Internet usage was rather expensive, but mini-bar was reasonable. Good place to rent a car(Sixt)

“overnight for airplane connection”

This hotel is right in the airport, walking distance. It is very clean with great beds and comforters. The internet is a charge though!! The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive but you can walk back to the airport and find lots of food choices (ie. Macdonalds- haha). There are only 2 English channels on the tv but they have pay movies for 10 Euros.

“Best place we stayed the entire trip”

We stayed here the last night of our trip. It was the best hotel we stayed in during the entire 10 days. In fact, it is among the best hotels we've ever stayed in. It is quite new, excellent design, the spa area, though we did not use it, is lovely. There are restaurant several restaurants-the one we ate at was pricey, but worth it-good food and excellent service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Dusseldorf. It is right at the airport and easy to take the train anywhere. I wish we had stayed there the night before instead of in Alstadt (old town). Cant say enough good about it!

The old town is fun to see...after a while they all look alike.

Getting there

Trains are great if on land. The Dusseldorf airport is also quite nice and a manageable size.

“Probably the best hotel in Dusseldorf”

If you visit the city for business, this is the best option. Is just next to th airport (you don´t need to worry for the noise) and very close to the Messe. In general, the hotel couldn´t be better!

“Beautiful but difficult for English speaker”

My first impression of the hotel was very positive. The walk from the airport was only 2 minutes and it was basically across a big parking lot so it was easy to do with several pieces of luggage and a pushchair. Also, there is an inexpensive supermarket directly inside the airport entrance 2.5-3 minutes from the hotel lobby for snacks and breakfast. The decor and style in the lobby was one of the nicest I've ever seen. The man at reception was very friendly and checked us in quickly. The room took my breath away and is the nicest we have ever stayed at and we travel often. The bathroom was by far the biggest I've ever seen equipped with many amenities including a bidet. However, the struggle came when I wanted to contact reception or information to ask a question. I went to pick up the phone but there was no list of numbers to call hotel staff. I looked through the menu on the phone but everything was in german. I had to call the hotel number on my mobile (which was expensive) and was told the number for reception was 1029 which doesn't seem logical like 0 or 1 as reception desks normally are. In summary, they didn't give me the right info to have something printed by the front desk and it caused a lot of stress for us in the morning when we tried to check out. The woman at the desk also said they couldn't post letters for me and I had to request to talk to a supervisor who kindly said they could take care of it no problem, which I thought was a standard hotel service.

“Excellent”

“Dusseldorf Airport's 2nd best hotel within walking distance”

This is a good hotel. It is just a bit farther than the Sheriton. If you have a lot of luggage, make sure to get a cart. A 1/2 empty beer bottle was inside a cupboard that left that horrible stale beer smell inside the cupboard. Overall not bad, but when I reported it to the front desk, there was very little concern shown. I thought at least an insincere "Were Sorry" would have been offered. The restaurant choices are much better than the Sheraton and it is less expensive. If I can not get a good rate at the Sheraton I will stay here again.
