“Great location”

“Bussiness hotel”
Good for bussiness travelers
“Excelent”
A very nice Hotel
“Decent location and hotel”
The hotel was fine for a weekend break, no complaints about the room or standards, the drinks in the bar where on the expensive side but other than that I would quite easly go back.
“Disappointed”
Did NOT enjoy staying at this hotel. The design lacked style, just an ugly box of a building. The lobby was boring, again nothing to distinguish it and entice you to spend time there! Up to the actual room and I was getting upset now! It was small and everything looked old, out of date and the wardrobe doors creaky too! Here I was, paying extra for a 5* hotel and I got a smaller room than at a 4*! Tiny bathroom too, all of it straight from a 1960's time warp - dreadful for the premium price paid! The TV was a flatscreen though, but it was an afterthought as it did not really sit well with the colours or design of the room, plus there was some wires hanging down from the back, which was a little bit of an eye-sore! Woke-up late one day and was told "breakfast is over" - in a 5* hotel, if I want breakfast at 1pm, then I expect to get it without any excuses! The Japanese restaurant downstairs is excellent, they have those private Japanese styled rooms where you sit on the floor and a girl dressed in traditional clothing serves the food: a wonderful experience. Only one course was to my tastes - the others were an experience that I am sure they must love in Tokyo, but was bland to my tastes. All-in-all, I would love to go back to the restaurant. Therein lies the solution for this hotel - don't stay here - if you want Japanese food, then you can drop in for dinner. For less money at the Radisson Blu in the harbour, I got a stylish 4* hotel than felt as good as any 5* one.
“Overprices, Understaffed, Overrated”
One poor waiter to wait at the lobby bar and all the room service orders. Reception also understaffed. Room service until 23.00hrs Not so close from the train station as they stated, nor close to the city center. The concierge service is a joke. But they do overcharge for absolutely everything. The rooms are very nice, I must admit, they even have an espresso machine. The staff tries hard to accomodate but it's truly hard for them. I wouldn't think of it as a 5 stars hotel, probably not even 4.
“Overall nice stay”
was a nice stay. we got an expedia rate which was pretty decent. not sure if it would be worth the regular rate though
“Return customer!”
This is the second time I've stayed at Nikko and it was even better than the first trip.
“very nice Hotel”
nice location good rooms and good services
“Exceptional Staff, Great Location”
The staff in the lobby and the restaurants were extremely courteous and professional. Both Benkay and Torii restaurants were very high quality and great experiences at both. Hotel Nikko is a great location, accessible by walking to all the major shops around Düsseldorf - even the Kö - and only about 15 minutes drive to the airport also. I was pleased to have access to a trilingual (French/German/English) New Testament in the room, placed by the Gideons International. The room also had a bilingual (English/Japanese)edition of _The Teaching of Buddha_, provided by the Society for the Promotion of Buddhism. Next time I'm in Düsseldorf, I will be staying at Nikko!
