“Convenient Duss airport hotel”

Good value for money and close to the airport. Free shuttle was great!

“Ok price, but nothing exciting”

We booked the Holiday Inn Dusseldorf Airport Ratingen as an expedia surprise, so the rate was good. The hotel looks a bit crummy from the outside for a 4 star. Parking has to be paid as well as breakfast and internet. The rates for those "services" are not low. There is no elevator, so for some it might be better to look elsewhere. The hotel is near the airport, but no noise. The surrounding area is not attractive. The center of Dusseldorf is 8KM, so as long as you make a day trip and use the hotel for just sleeping it is ok. The room was good size and clean and the beds fine. We had been awarded a "redecorated" room after some arguments over the package. All in all not bad for the money, but not an exciting place to be.

“Last Exit Dusseldorf”

I cannot believe that this is supposed to be a 4 Star hotel. Only good thing is the proximity to the airport. Apart from that, it is a run down place. Far from the Dusseldorf itself in the middle of nowhere. Overpriced beer in the pub. In Dusseldorf city you pay almost half in the restaurants. Typical Airport hotel where they take advantage of the guests because there is no alternative in walking distance. I booked it over expedia with an unpublished rate. Should have been a Dusseldorf city hotel with 4 Stars. Far from it. If I would have booked directly with the hotel it would have even been cheaper.

“One night stay”

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone spoke English which was so nice to encounter. There is a nice bar that serves good food until late in the evening. The free shuttle to the airport was very handy and right on time. I was only there for one night to catch a connecting flight. The air conditioning in the room didn't work and apparently this was the situation through out the entire hotel as I heard other guests say theirs wasn't working either. Fortunately, opening the window served the purpose of cooling the room. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

“Very friendly and helpful staff”

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Dusseldorf airport but with more affordable rates than the hotels within walking distance of the terminal. The hotel's shuttle bus from the airport is run by a company called NRW, located at the car park entrance straight across from the terminal arrivals; they leave at 15 and 45 min past the hour, so potentially you may have to wait for a while. From check-in to leaving the staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful or friendly. The room was cleaned to a high standard and was very comfortable. We chose not to eat an evening meal in the restaurant as it was offering a buffet, preferring to use the bar which also has a food menu. The barman gave good service. One surprise though is that smoking is permitted in the bar - we've got used to being 'smoke free' in England, clearly Germany has different rules. Our schedule also did not permit us to have breakfast at the hotel except on our last morning; we found the buffet to be very plentiful, and at 18EUR per person was good value compared with some of the eateries serving breakfast at the airport. The shuttle back to the airport also runs to a schedule, and seats need to be booked at reception; we made use of this several times, and the receptionist remembered our room number from our arrival! In summary, a pleasant stay in a hotel which met all our needs.

“Met our travel needs”

While traveling in Europe, last-minute circumstances required us to travel to Dusseldorf for access to that airport. Expedia booking on-line showed us everything we needed to know in order to choose this property. The shuttle to and from the airport worked exactly as promised. The hotel was clean and bright. The desk personnel were very efficient. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and well-equipped. A plus was the hotel restaurant's buffet that was still open at 9:30PM! We had not eaten since breakfast and the food was excellent. We only stayed the night and then were back at the airport for our flight home. We did not see any of the surrounding area and did not use any of the other hotel amenities.

“Not in our plans”

We hadn't planned on even going to Germany but flight situations in Rome forced us to change travel plans. The Holiday Inn had free shuttle service to and from the airport. We we happy to find the restaurant still open and they even served a light breakfast in the lobby at 6:00 am. Check in and check out was easy and these weary travelers were fed and in bed within an hour of arrival.

“Outdated Hotel”

Their service was ok but the hotel is more like a motel. Very old, outdated, curious to see a regular old school TV in the room. The only room left for us being a late check-in was a smoking room that rigged and we couldn't do nothing about it. . My main complaint is that it was way overpriced compared to dated hotels in the area.

“too far from hotel”

The hotel was OK, but too far from airport. The hotel aslo lacked a lift and the hotel is laid out such that it can be a very long walk to get to one's room. The staff were fine. but the woman who greeted me was less than warm and only a bit helpful with directions.
