Great Bed and Breakfast
Very friendly, helpful owner. (When another couple left without umbrellas, he rushed after them to lend them umbrellas for the day.) Made an excellent suggestion for a nearby (driving distance) restaurant for dinner. It's affiliated with the butcher shop next store; so the food was divine. Rooms were good sized, beds were comfortable -- what more could one ask?

Ian was a wonderful host. Very enthusiastic and accommodating. He offered great advice for an afternoon walk after we arrived and for dinner that night. The breakfast was especially tasty. We highly recommend the Old Rectory for Cleveland Way walkers or those looking for a getaway.

Well worth a visit!
Fabulous getaway in gorgeous part of Yorkshire. Ian's friendly hospitality, in outstanding surroundings, is second-to-none. We were made to feel really welcome and had a relaxed break - only slight downside was it wasn't really cold enough to use the log fire!! Seriously, we are already planning to base our next trip around staying at the Old Rectory.

Excellent Value
Lovely old building, full of character and well furnished. Room was very comfortable and adjoining bathroom (for my sole use) was large and had both bath and shower. Very quiet setting in the countryside (on Cleveland Way) enables one to sleep well. Breakfast excellent - I think that Ian, the proprietor, would have been able to provide me with whatever I had asked for. What I requested was well cooked and of good quality. Would certainly stay again and be happy to recommend.

Excellent B and B!
What a gem of a place! Superb location in the quiet village of Kildale, a short drive from Great Ayton or Stokesley. Our room was very comfortable and very tastefully appointed. The breakfast was excellent, providing fruit, fruit juice, full English and toast. Would definitely recommend this place and we hope to return.

Fantstic service.
This Hotel was truly a magical place. Everything was beautiful. The service was fantastic, the breakfast was amazing served using all local ingredients etc...So sad we are no longer able to have that service every morning. Ian was very helpful in terms of a good knowledge of the surrounding areas and providing local maps and parking disks. Attention to detail was fantastic. We needed a calm and relaxed holiday to recuperate after quite an horrendous year and that was exactly what we got. A* we will definitely be returning and are telling all our friends and family. Thanks Ian.

Comfortable B&B with friendly owners
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay for one night at this lovely B&B in a rural setting on the edge of the North York Moors. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we had a good and reasonably priced meal at the pub they recommended 5 minutes drive away. An excellent breakfast with homemade preserves finished off a delightful stay. I have no hesitation in recommending this guest house and would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Everything was excellent with our overnight stay at The Old Rectory. Ian, the owner was very friendly and helpful. Our room was tastefully decorated with special extra touches...a flask of fresh milk and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings of a high quality. The rain shower was wonderful. Breakfast was very tasty with fresh brown crusty bread, eggs from local chickens and cereal with yoghurt. Also fresh fruit. We wished we were staying longer to explore the area and maybe a train ride from the station in the village. We would definitely return if in the area.

Hidden gem
Loved the old rectory, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home . The owner Ian is such a lovely host and his cooked breakfast made with local produce was cooked to perfection. The house is set in lovely gardens with beautiful views so peaceful and relaxing we didn't want to leave. Each room is individual and full of character, fresh milk is provided daily There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby , Ian recommended Howard's bistrot in the nearby Villiage in which we had a lovey meal but there where lots of others which we shall try when we visit again . Usually we stay in hotels so this was our first experience of a B&B . We can't wait to visit again soon

Excellent stop off for Cleveland Way Walkers
This was my favorite accomodation of our week walking the Cleveland Way. The Old Rectory is a grand old house in the village of Kildale. The room we stayed in was large, light and very comfortable. The owner is a wonderful host, nothing is too much trouble, he ferried us down to a nearby pub and brought us back later. His cooked breakfast was excellent.

A pampered stay.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and was able to recommend somewhere to eat even though it was 9pm by the time I arrived. I was only staying for one night as I had business nearby the following day. By the time I'd enjoyed the wonderful breakfast I had decided to book some extra nights next time and enjoy exploring the area and some days off work.

Fantastic B&B in the Yorkshire Moors
I can honestly say I've never stayed in a better B&B! The owner Ian is the friendliest chap you could wish to meet and his fantastic local knowledge meant that were able to make the most of our short stay in the Moors. The whole place has a wonderfully homely feel and the bedroom and en-suite were beautifully presented, comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast served around a big table next to the wood burner was an absolute treat with lots of choice and hot food cooked to order. I wish we could have stayed longer!

B&B with 5* hotel quality
Booked, The Old Rectory so that my husband and I could take a trip down memory lane in whitby. I'm sure what ever I put here will not do this B&B justice, but I will try ! the host Ian met us as the car pulled into his driveway, welcomed us and asked if he could help with the bags. as if we were family friends. The house inside is beautiful and a very warm atmosphere. the room was very clean and the bed was very soft and comfy. the host Ian and his family made us very welcome and was more than happy to point us in the right direction to good restaurants in the area and good places to visit. The breakfast was more than enough for any appetite and pleasing to the eye as well as the stomach! Overall we had a wonderful stay and will stay here again when we are next in the area. YOU will not be disappointed with the Old Rectory

Superb B&B
I used this place for a couple of nights whilst visiting my son in the middle of Middlesbrough. Although @ a 30 drive from the town centre, it's well worth making the effort. The rooms are sumptuous, the views breath-taking and the breakfast superb. A good strong free wifi signal is available in the rooms. Highly recommended.

My fiancée and myself stayed for one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Ian is a brilliant host who can't do enough for you, the breakfast was wonderful, with eggs from his hens in the garden. The room was homely and the bed was so comfortable, we had the best nights sleep in a long time. We will definitely be returning, I really can't recommend it enough.
