"First stay here was great. The receptionist was fantastic and very helpful. Second stay which was most recent wasn’t the best. If you get put in room 48, asked to me moved!! The A1M runs at the back of the room so when you are trying to sleep you are kept awake by HGVs that shake the room. Gym at Heath club is great and the food in the cafe is good"

"Another lovely stay in a Premium Room. Ground floor room with views onto the golf course and patio doors leading out in to a small open terrace. Lovely bathroom with deep freestanding bath and a separate powerful shower. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful meal in The Rib Room. Both hotel and restaurant staff helpful and welcoming."

"Stayed for 3 nights and couldnt have found a better place, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really nice and set us up for the day, had a meal in the pub 1 night and can honestly say its blew us away how good quality the food was. Full marks to the chef first time ive stayed somewhere and they can do a decent poached egg."

"This is quite a historic building with links to Henry 8th and the family of Anthony Eden. It’s on the outskirts of Bishop Aukland but a cheap taxi ride into the centre and decent bus routes. The staff are super friendly and the spa linked to the hotel is very good. I sincerely found the place relaxing. If you are visiting the excellent new galleries of Bishop Aukland (especially its Spanish Art Gallery) stay here. "
