The breakfast was not good. Diners serve a better breakfast. The wait staff was excellent. Hilton should have better culinary dishes.

It was great that the property had a laundry room. However, the machines all required quarters to operate. That meant needing $6 in quarters. There was no change machine available. When we asked that front desk if they had quarters, they didnt and told us to go buy something at Albertsons to get quarters there. We didnt think that was a good solution. The property needs to install machines that will take credit cards as payment or the front desk needs to have enough quarters to make change.

This is a comfortable, stately, quiet hotel catering to an older set and compatible with the history of Durango! Lots of big beams and polished wood. It is set on the lovely river and conveniently located across the street to old town Durango. There are plenty of dining options, terrific food and history in Durango. Definitely worth staying here for the comfort, quality and convenience!

Beautiful location by the mountains and river. Great customer service, hot tub and pool were very nice, path along the river is directly behind the hotel and right across the road from the train station and main Street.

Didn’t get told we would get charged $12 per day for parking after spending over $300 for two nights. Found hair in bathroom trash can, didn’t clean the bathroom mirror very well, food or something under microwave not cleaned, no freezer and when I told them we had no freezer they said none of the rooms do and we could store food at the front desk if we wanted to which is stupid because we spent a lot of money. And when we went to the lounge downstairs we were basically invisible to the bartender/ waitress and it took ten minutes give or take for her to even come talk to us. We were down there for close to an hour and she came to our table twice.

We had an amazing time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the pool and being able to walk to the river so easily. Will be back to stay when we come to Durango. Check out Blue Rain Gallery while staying in Durango as well!

Faucets were loose and didn't work properly. We were unaware of the 12.00 parking fee. After paying 166.oo for a nite. A parking fee felt like a gotca.

Great hotel horrible restaurant
The hotel was very pretty on the exterior and interior. The hotel staff were very courteous, professional, and took care of issues pretty quickly. When we got into our room, it looked very clean and modern except for the tv. It was a small tv with a remote that didn’t want to work. The beds were pretty comfortable but needs added cushioning such as an extra pillow top. Now onto the bad part : the Animas Grille. We went to the restaurant at the hotel, since it advertised prime rib, which would’ve been perfect for our wedding anniversary dinner IF we had received service after being seated. The waiter gave us a glass of water then ignored us for 40 MINUTES! Our waiter, and the other waitstaff, completely ignored us even though they walked past us over a couple of dozen times within those 40 minutes. (We are an interracial couple and we’re the only interracial couple at the restaurant at the time as well as the only one ignored—coincidence? I think not.) We got fed up and complained to the front desk manager who promptly tried to fix this issue. He did get us seated in a different area. The prime rib was subpar after the irritation of being mistreated by 3 of the waitstaff earlier. The waitress wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu and had to consistently ask the chef in order to answer our questions. To make up for the earlier mistreatment, we received free desserts. My husband had a very small piece of cheesecake and I received burnt donuts that made me sick.

A quick walk to downtown! Loved the creek. Room service breakfast wasn’t good unfortunately. Close to the freeway noise (but for a convenient location it’s understandable). Our room had a noise machine so we covered the traffic noise with rain noise.
