“Not Impressed”
Lots of odors.
“Noizy”
The room was near the center of the hotel where they had a birthday party and pool events. I thought it was inconsiderate to guest by opening it up in such a manner because we were paying guests too. Next time, if I go there, it will be facing away from inside of the hotel.
“Best Western Scranton East”
I stayed at this hotel after visiting Niagara Falls and heading into NYC the next day. It was the perfect place to stop and the room was great! I wish I would have had time to enjoy the pool or jacuzzi but got there late. Also, there is a nice bar area in the lobby to enjoy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Would gladly stay again.”
We recently stayed for three nights at this hotel and loved it. The bed was firm, yet so comfortable. We generally like a soft bed, yet we had a terrific night sleep each night. The room was not that large, but that could have been due to the amount of furniture in it. There were two beds, table, two armchairs, full sized office desk, dresser, microwave/fridge stand and office chair. The sink area was separate from the bathroom. This hotel had a lovely hot buffet breakfast. If you walked away hungry, it was your own fault!!! The exercise room was fairly well equipped. Two treadmills, recumbent bike, plus weight machine. No mats for floor exercises though. I would have liked an elliptical machine. They have a large pool area with fountains, lots of seats, etc. The hot tub is very large. Although most rooms had to be accessed from inside the hotel, we had a drive up room which meant that we had to go a short distance outside to get to the pool/dining room/lobby. The wifi did not work in that area. We had to go to the lobby to use our computer. As we were leaving however, we noticed that the room had a computer cable. So we had not needed to go to the lobby to get computer access after all!! That will teach us to ask, or to use our eyes!! Anyway, we do not have anything negative to say about this hotel at all. If we should ever be back in Scranton, we would definitely stay here again, and we will recommend it to all our friends. It was a terrific hotel!!!
“For a basic stay”
The room wasnt ready until after 12 , where 12 was supposed to be checkin. The walls are thin, as we heard a baby heard running back and forth up from us for few hours...but room was basic.
“Poor experience overall”
I stayed at this hotel during a mandatory evacuation of my home due to flooding in September 2011. Thank goodness they gave me a room with interior only access; so many hotels were sold out due to the evacuation that I had to take what I could get. Here's what was a problem: Three trips to the front desk to get a key card that worked. Several flying insects in the room. Wireless Internet didn't work, and Ethernet connection wasn't very stable. Breakfast free, but not very good -- both the scrambled eggs and the juice were watered down. Limited parking near the front entrance of the hotel. Blackened caulking in bathroom. Toilet rocks. Inadequate/dim lighting in the room. The biggest issue is that housekeeping left the room open for an unknown period of time with my stuff inside. TV barely worked, lots of static in the speakers, and not very many channels worked. Good thing I was only interested in the TV station where I live so I could monitor the events of the flood. What was good: Microwave and good-sized fridge in the room. Soft towels. Comfortable beds.
“No more”
no more this hotel
“can't wait to go back”
love the room, nice size extremely clean. customer service front desk very helpful . would recommend to anyone in scranton area.
“July 24 2011”
The Hotel was definitely dated, but clean. The kids really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The beds were comfortable and it was fairly quiet. We would stay there again. breakfast was awesome too!
“Would never go back!”
I must say that this hotel is not up to Holiday Inn standards. The lobby and entrance is nice enough, considering there was no air-conditioning. The pool was also quite nice, but that's where the pleasantries end. The room was horrible. It was tiny and looked like a cheap motel. Even the entrance was motel-like. There were wet towels hanging on the bathroom door from previous guests. The location was horrible. Right off a busy highway. I would never stay there again.
