Beautiful building on the water.

Pros: Location, free parking and Wi-Fi. Restaurants nearby.
Cons: Beds were a bit too soft for our liking.
Location: Short walk to the water and strip of restaurants.
Stayed for two nights here. Easy walking access to train/transit to Dublin. Located near excellent restaurants and by the water. Free parking and Wi-Fi. Would be lovely place to stay in warmer weather.

Very comfortable stay

I had a great experience at the hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights in Feb'15. The best thing - there was a direct coach transfer from Airport to the hotel reception. Rooms very cleaned and very spacious (with a comfy sofa in the room). I liked the Hardy's pub, staff was polite and the quality of food was great. Though a bit far from the city, it is well compensated by DART station within 5 min of walk. Dun Laghoire is a great neighborhood, if you are looking for a place out of the hustle bustle of the city, but still within 15 min reach to the city. Overall, excellent place and a great value for money. Only thing that I missed was perhaps a sea view room.

Excellent choice of hotel, near Dublin City.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean and warm rooms, easy access to Dublin by the 'Dart' service, a wonderful alternative to hotels in busy Dublin city.
Cons: I would have liked to be able to walk upstairs to our room on the 6th floor, the stairs only went to the 3rd floor.
Location: The location was very convenient for Dublin airport, the toll roads were very fast and convenient. The 'Dart' train service to Dublin was a bonus.
My husband and I stayed at the 'Royal Marine' in February 2015, it was for a special occasion our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We were very impressed with our stay from the very moment we were greeting by a very friendly receptionist as we checked in, who informed us that our room was ready and we had been upgraded. Our double seaview room with a balcony was truly very inviting, clean, warm and comfortable. We took full advantage of the swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi during our stay. We found all staff very friendly and accommodating, and the room was cleaned on a daily basic to a very high standard. The food served at the 'Dun' restaurant was excellent and we also enjoyed meals in the 'Hardy' bar. The hotel was quiet and the location was excellent, just a short stroll to the 'dart' with easy access to Dublin. We were so pleased to stay in a hotel out of Dublin city and we would rate the Royal Marine in a very scenic setting, as an excellent, comfortable, friendly hotel, we would thoroughly enjoy a return visit.

Great hotel, close to everything

Lovely bright hotel, with welcoming staff on reception. Public transport right on the doorstep and plenty of restaurant, bars and cafe within minutes walk. Food in the bar is great... Just left waiting a bit to be served and wasn't that busy. Will defiantly stay here again

Cold New Year's Eve

Posted 05-Jan-2015
Pros: Location. style
Cons: Infrastructure, heating, showers
Location: Dublin city is the main one
It was very unfortunate that we have spent our first night in absolute freezing conditions. We were wearing jackets and coats to lay on the bed as the heating system in our room was not working. Requests to fix it or change room were responded the day after. Luckily they have changed us to a different room. Breakfast, average for a cost of 15 Euros. As a building beautiful and in a very good location.
