Dear Guest I really do not know what to say here in reply to this however I suppose I was expecting this. I note that you have chosen to make this review “anonymous”, however we remember you completely due to the unmannerly, and totally disrespectful way in which you treated my team during your stay. Dear Sir Thank you for your review. I would like to respond if I may. I am not really sure as to where you were left to find your own room, as we would never ever expect anyone to come into a strange hotel and try and find their way around. We always ring our guests to ask if they require to book a table with us in the evenings so as we are sure that our residents have a table. We are the busiest hotel in the town and the busiest for meals, and as it was a Saturday night, we had a waiting list of people wanting tables. I am however glad that we did manage to eventually get you a change of time from your original booking. On reading your comment on our food and the coleslaw with cheese, I am guessing you had one of our delicious chicken or beef burgers, which comes with cheesy coleslaw as described on the menu. We also offer ALL our customers a glass of complimentary port on a Friday and Saturday evening after they finish their meals, as we feel this is a nice way of us showing our appreciation to our customers. Unfortunately we do have 2 rooms whih are above the kitchen, but as you say it does calm down at around 9.30pm or 10 depending on how busy we are, and heat does tend to rise, but we do have an extraction system which should take away most of the heat, however each room does come with a fan, to assist in the warmer times. I do like a happy team, and it is nice for me to hear them laughing in the work place, however I appreciate you had travelled up from Cambridge, so my apologies for this. I had actually upgraded you from a single room which was originally booked, and put you in to a family room with a king size double bed at no extra charge, and we thought we were doing the right thing. We do hope that you had a safe onward journey, and I hope that we may see you again in the future.
