“A very pleasant surprise- will certainly go back- staff friendly and very helpful”

We booked at the very last minute in a service station after being held up in traffic for 4 hours. 20 mins after booking we were relaxing the the comfy bar enjoying a well earned drink. The reception/bar staff were very pleasant and friendly. We have decided to book again the next time we want to go shopping in Gretna Green

“Good Hotel”

The Gables hotel was centrally placed in Gretna Green for a family wedding party. Our room was well decorated large with an en suite. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Happy to recommend to anyone

“Just good old fashioned hospitality”

This hotel couldn't be more welcoming. The staff are so pleasant and always immaculately turned out. The public areas are immaculate, helped in no small part by the efforts of a small army of housekeepers. The lounge bar is an excellent choice for meals, offering good quality pub grub type food at decent prices. Breakfast is a very well organised affair, with buffet style continental offerings and a varied hot choice to order. The quality is perfectly acceptable, if not to gourmet standards. Room 5 is a fairly small double, but with a large bathroom. It's in need of a little TLC, but is very clean and comfortable. There is a large extractor fan which runs all day outside the window, but is switched off around 9.45pm every day, so unless you like to turn in very early isn't a problem. The room benefits from an excellent wi-fi signal, which can be logged onto free of charge - just get the passcode from reception. Excellent parking and a pleasant aspect rounds off a very comfortable and fantastically friendly hotel.

Comfy country house style hotel with an interesting history. Pleaant attentive staff and good food with an excellent sizeable breakfast. Superb value and no hesitation in going back again. Understand they may be about to undergo a major refurb in 2012 (unconfirmed) so hope they do not spoil the ambience.
