“Stationed at The Station Hotel”

Good show, just couldn't open window for fresh air at a perfectly marvelous week of sunny weather! Regular dining options superceded by a group of archeologists, but what wonderful people to fill the bar. Excellent location to village centre, not very appealing, but train line excellent and bus connections. Thomas Carlyle, Robert Burns, and John the Bruce.

“Not Impressed”

I felt the hotel was very old fashioned. We had a smallish Four Poster bed in the room, which below the slatted frame that the mattress sat on at the bottom end of the bed was a piece of timber propped up with another piece of flat timber below this. I didn't have a lot of confidence that the bed would hold without collapsing. The bathroom was dated though there was an spa bath in it, which I didn't use. The wallpaper in the bathroom was torn in places. The hair dryer was stuck down on the dressing table, which was a bit awkward to use. Also sockets on the walls had extension sockets, so not enough plugs. All in all for a superior room it fell short of my expectations. The food was very good, breakfast itself was excellent. Looked like it had been freshly cooked.
