Affordable hotel near the train station

Posted 03-Mar-2014
It is a bare bones hotel to sleep. Nothing that makes it above and beyond and the little porch was a bit dirty and no view other than the sun roof of the breakfast room.

Big room

Posted 31-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Room size is good, lobby doors are not open after certain hours so if you are checking in late, better give the hotel a call else you will be stuck outside.

Great hotel for short break

Posted 10-Dec-2013
Pros: Location, great room
Cons: Look again at price of breakfast
Location: Take the train to Cologne it's only 25 mins away
Hotel is located 10 mins walk from the main station and @15 mins walk from old town/ main shopping area. Really handy if you want to split your weekend as we did between the Xmas markets in Cologne (25 mins by train) and Dusseldorf. Area around station is a little grungy (as in most cities) but there were always people around so we didn't feel unsafe walking back to the hotel at night. Couldn't fault the hotel room, large, spotlessly clean, really comfy bed and even though we were on the 1st floor overlooking the road, really quiet. The hotel has a cafe/ bar and bistro on the ground floor which was handy. We thought the breakfast at €22pp was extortionate there are plenty of cafe/ bakeries around where you can get a coffee and continental breakfast for under €5 so would defiantly take this option.

Lovely hotel in a great location

Posted 03-Dec-2013
Pros: Location, Cleanliness, Comfortable beds, Very quiet, Map and information from staff.
Cons: Heat in rooms, English entertainment channels
Location: Near the main station, Shopping street is very close by, Harbour is only 30 mins away, 6 Christmas markets close by during December.
As said in the title, this is a really lovely hotel just minutes from the main train station (Dusseldorf Hbf). As well as this, it's also close to many restaurants of different cuisines and the main shopping streets. The harbour is just a 30 minute walk away. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable with free coffee and tea kettle. The tv had over 50 channels in a wide variety of languages. However, the only ones in English are news channels. I had some problems sleeping for the first two nights due to the heat in the room. As my stay continued, either I became climatised to it or it did in fact get cooler. Due to the price, I never paid for breakfast in the hotel but instead gave the service to the local bakeries inside and out of the train station. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Although, I barely spoke to the staff, the times that I did they were very nice and easily accommodating.

Ideal for short stay

Posted 13-Nov-2013
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the railway station for ease of access to the airport and other journeys we had to make. Not the nicest area around the station, but practical. Hotel offered exactly what was needed for 3 night stay and room contained everything expected of a 3star hotel.

Great Location

Posted 02-Jun-2013 on Hotels.com
On arrival we were upgraded to an apartment so can only comment on this and not a standard room. The apartment was very spacious, two TVs, coffee making facilities separate WC and shower/bathroom. Only three apartments on each floor so very quiet and comfortable. Hotel was in a great location and easy to get to the shops and train station which is why we had chosen to stay here. Would highly recommend.

Pros: Cleanliness
Location: great location to train station but a long walk to the aldstadt.
Hotel and service was great. Location is super convenient for the train station. We arrived late at night and the next day needed the train again so it was super convenient.
