Very nice hotel, clean, safe, excellent staff, great breakfast, modern. We have no complaints at all about this hotel. The room was a bit tight but still very nice and great for our one night lay over. Food selection nearby is limited, but doable. I would definitely stay here again if in Dusseldorf.
"Handy for restaurants and 10 min walk to old town"
Small hotel, family run place feel to it.
Stayed there twice on the basis that in-room internet and (continental style) breakfast is included in the very reasonable price. There's a few good restaurants practically on the doorstep and a taxi rank just round the corner. Internet works well in both rooms I stayed in.
First visit - single room ordered but bed was more queen sized and very comfy and quiet, but bathroom was tiny - couldn't even close the door when in there! Asked for a room (single ordered) on second visit with a larger bathroom and got just that - bath and shower and again a comfy single bed. Being British I clicked through the available channels and only found CNN channel offered English language - so little choice if you want to just watch TV.
So overall - for the price you pay, very comfortable and friendly place to stay - I will book again.

Hotel Doria enjoys a very central location in the popular district of Pempelfort, close to the convention centre, the Old …More
Arrived by train, used U bahn to Nord Str. This station in conveniently located next to the hotel.
Arrival was and book in was excellent. Staff were brilliant. Although there was clearly some refurb taking place, this did not affect my stay. The room was excellent, 109, is to the rear of the building which I was grateful for; the emergency services appear to use the route outside the front as a main Rd to calls for service!
Breakfast was excellent, however don't expect full English. I love continental breakfast and was left very satisfied with the food each day... and coffee was outstanding.
The hotel is a 15 walk to the old town, or one stop on the U bahn.
Locally, there is an outstanding little bar called café florian. Good food and beer, recommend .
I will use again.
Had a 4th floor room facing rear. Very quiet, room clean and nicely furnished. The 2 free bottles of beer each day were very welcome!
My contact with the staff was A1, nice girls on the reception desk were always helpful. The decor in the hotel is nice and new, I did not have breakfast in the hotel, but having read other reviews it is supposed to be excellent.
The only tiny gripe was the plug in the bathroom sink would not move while depressing the lever, as the bathroom is cleaned every day by a maid, you would expect them to report these matters to the maintenance department.
Another point brought up by another reviewer that they thought was cool was the fact that it required your room key card to operate the lift. They thought this was great security, but they obviously didnt use the stairs which had full access through the hotel without a keycard. I work in the security business and am not put off by this, The rooms are fitted with really strong doors and high security locks, so security is not an issue.
I walked every morning to the kiosks on the other side of the Church to the lovely bakery and sampled different pastries which were simply stunning. Baking cakes is one of the many things Germans are good at.
The supermarket on the other side of the road to the kiosks has every thing you would ever need including really cheap beer. Another kiosk had lovely smelling coffee and seems to do food, but I did not eat there.
