“Recommended”

The hotel is on an island just off the mainland of croatia and about half an hour from Dubrovnik. It is the only hotel on the island along with 2 small villages a few restaurants and a bar so if you want to escape to a beautiful place but be within distance of the hustle and bustle of a major tourist attraction (Dubrovnik) this could be for you. The hotel is small and friendly and the staff are excellent. Our room was quite small but had all we needed including free internet access and a library of dvds. It is located next to a small sandy beach and the sea is crystal clear. There are no cars on the island, some lovely walks and a variety of water activities. Guests staying at the hotel were a mix of ages and nationalalities. I would recommend it and would go back there myself.

“Great as a base but do explore the island”

The hotel is great, the pool lovely and friendly staff. The DVD player in the room is appreciated when you are tired in the evening! My tip would be don't just stay around the hotel. There are some really great walks around the island with absolutely amazing swimming coves, far outdoing the beach in front of the hotel. Definitely recommend Kolocep for a couple or if you are looking to just relax in the sun.

“Beautiful Island”

The hotel is located on a beautiful island just a half hour ferry ride from Dubrovnik. It is well worth a couple of nights stay to really enjoy what the island can offer!

“Fantastic, loved it!”

A great hotel with outstanding food. Staff extremely lovely and helpful. The best thing about the hotel is its setting and the fact that it is quiet and not spoilt by loud roudy tourists (apart from the odd visit by italian teenagers, who thankfully don't stay long!) Highly recommended if you want a very quiet and peaceful holiday - if you want loud music and happy hours go somewhere else!!

“A Great find”

Found a gem here - travelled in september to kolocep villas - weather was great and the hotel setting and service was exactly what you want for a relaxing holiday. Will be back at some stage and i'm sure i'll convince some of my friends to go too as ive been rabitting on about this place since i've returned home!

“A Wonderful Holiday”

Read all the reviews of this island and the hotel before we went, and they were all good, and we certainly agree with them. The rooms were clean and comfy. The showers were always hot. The food was excellent with a very varied choice of meat, fish, vegetables, salad and fruit. The breakfasts could be cooked or continental, with plenty of fruit, cereal and yoghurt. The rooms all had a balcony and internet connection and a good bed. there were a lot of steps up to our villa, but the view was worth it. Last, but not least, the hotel staff were all amazingly kind and courteous. We loved it and would go back definitely.

“Lovely peaceful location”

We had a really relaxing few days. The island is beautiful and just 30 minutes by ferry to Dubrovnik. The hotel was extremely good, with excellent service. Do not go if you want exciting night life, it really is a quiet holiday for those wanting peace and relaxation. A wonderful stay.

“A lovely break on a charming island.”

As I think others have emphasised, this is not an island for ravers. We spent our week hiking, swimming and enjoying Kolocep's lovely environment and climate. It's a small island but very hike ended in another charming swimming spot. The hotel was fine, with good food and really charming staff making every effort to keep us happy. Vegetarans would struggle, though we eat fish and this was fine. Keeping food hot at the breakfast and dinner buffet is the only problem worth mentioning. Good value for money and a really restful week.

“The only place I have ever wanted to go back to”

It is not just the beautiful location and quality of the hotel that made our stay so perfect. There is a real dedication to service at Hotel Villas Kolocep and they could never do enough if we wanted anything extra. One day the kitchen staff made us a packed lunch when we went kyaking for the day and all of the staff were fluent in English, French, German and probably other languages too. All of this without being over the top. Very laidback atmosphere. The island itself is gorgeous - the weather was good while we were there (early July), about mid 30s and only one day was very windy. It is not a tourist destinationa at all - we visited Lopud, a neighbouring island, which was much busier but that wasn't what we wanted so Kolocep was ideal. There are 4 restaurants including the one in the hotel. At the hotel you can either eat a la carte or choose the buffet option for 110 kuna (about £15) which we did a couple of times. There's also a pizzeria (very reasonable and good beer!) and 2 seafood restaurants (one which is very expensive but with a gorgeous location where you can watch the sun set). We spent a couple of days by the pool or swimming but you can arrange boat tours, hire bikes and kayaks too. We visited the old city in Dubrovnik and I would recommend making the effort to catch the 6:45am ferry to be on the walls by 8am otherwise it's roasting! Gorgeous holiday and we will definitely return - something we have never said about a holiday before. Excellent price too.

“Best Family Resort connected to the WWW!”

A family resort within a 20 minute boat ride to the historic Dubrovnik for sightseeing. Enjoy the best of an Adriatic Island to rest and relax with attentive staff to provide services from spa treatments to outdoor activities. The plasma screen and internet connection in each accommodation makes it simple to stay in touch. If the last ferry at 8pm from Dubrovnik to Kolocep is a problem, then you are not on island time. The location is the key of Villas Kolocep.
