“It is not fancy, but”
It is an affordable hotel that was very clean, comfortable, and a very friendly hotel staff. We had an amazing balcony with a beautiful view of the city. I would recommend to others, especially at this price point. It would be a long walk to the city, but there is a bus stop in front and you can take a taxi too (10 minute ride). The location is close to the beach and there are many other hotels close by. Be careful because the taxis will take advantage of you there, confirm pricing up front and we were told they can alter the meters to increase the price.
“Good location, clean and friendly, would recommend”
The hotel is in a beautiful location with a great and very frequent bus service into Old Town Dubrovnik. The stall were very helpful and the indoor pool and spa were a big draw and lived up to expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable, all in all would definitely recommend.
“Convenient location quick bus ride from the walled city”
Mario greeted us at Reception and was incredibly helpful, almost in a concierge capacity, throughout our stay. Additionally, they kept a suitcase for us for a few days while we traveled on to Hvar. Exceptionally nice staff.
“Hotel Uvala”
Hotel Uvala is a wonderful hotel near the beach and very comfortable.
“Dubrovnik Gem”
Uvala nestled on a peninsula close to historical center of Dubrovnik is a gem. 5 min effortless walk to the Adriatic and next to the bus stop where you can catch a shuttle into town easily. Rooms are a little dated (70s Tito kisch?) but the patio views unmatchable and priceless. Definitely high value.
“a nice place to stay in Dubrovnik”
we stayed at Uvula at the end of May.a lassic 4 star hotel. The front desk and the other stuff was helpful. Although we had a problem with air condition first day, they fixed it after our request soon. teh rooms were comfortable, small but enough for 2. The breakfast was avarage but enough for morning , we had it everyday. The hotel is a few walking distance to beach, good for people planing to swim. The neighboorhood is nice and quiet. old town is almost 10-15 minutes by driving.easy to reach. there is a bus stop , bus number 4, which goes directly to old town in front of the hotel. Dubrovnik is very expensive, especially for food in old town .
“Paul and Liz - Uvala is a great hotel”
A very modern hotel. Great view of the bay from the balcony. All staff very helpful and welcoming. Easy bus journey into Dubrovnik from right outside hotel. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely heated indoor pool. Room very comfortable and bathroom had a tub as well as shower. I would certainly stay here again at the right price. Minor complaints - Had to pay to use internet and printer. Mini-bar not cold, but staff always willing to supply ice
“Nice tidy hotel in a reasonable location”
Modern, generally clean hotel in a quiet part of Lapad. Nice room overlooking the bay. Breakfast OK but don't be late because the buffet will be cold. Friendly helpful staff. Shingle beach is down steps through a sister hotel and is OK but unremarkable. Excellent No4 bus into the Old City stops almost outside. Good points: Dubrovnik old city is fabulous, weather in late September was ideal, the sea is crystal clear for swimming. Some good food in local and Dubrovnik taverns. Bad points: the hotel pools need cleaning - algae starting to grow in places. Extensive building taking place - don't go back in two or so years it could be like Spain or Portugal
“Great location and excellent service”
Short bus ride to old town and bus stop is right at the hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful and we had a nice ocean view. The walk to the end of the street was lovely with a small hike up a hill for good views of the surroundings. The breakfast was excellent with good variety and quality.
“Stunning views”
We stayed at Hotel Uvala for 7 nights in September. The staff were friendly - reception desk in particular were extremely helpful. The buffet breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. The location is great - a short walk to Lapad beach and local bars and restaurants. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as there is more choice and a better atmosphere in Lapad or in Dubrovnik Old City. The no. 4 bus into Dubrovnik Old City stops right outside the hotel and runs until around midnight. The hotel overlooks the bay with stunning views from the restaurant terrace, pool and rooms at the front of the hotel. Rooms at the back of the hotel have a 'garden view' but they actually overlook woods on a steep incline so not much to look at. Our room was quite dark - made even worse because two of the window blinds couldn't be opened. Although the hotel is rated 4 star I would say the hotel is more of a 3 star in terms of decor -the 4 star rating is probably more to do with the on-site health spa (which is very good).
