“Great service, near the beach.”
This hotel is located less than 5 minutes walk from Lapad beach, and very close to the station where you take the bus to Old Town. Very convenient, and the bus service is very frequent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had a balcony with a fairly nice view. They served continental breakfast, which was simple, but nice. We had dinner at the Hotel's restaurant one night: the food was good, with a reasonable price, but I wouldn't classify it as exciting cuisine. The room was reasonably clean, but my demanding eyes picked a thing or two that needed to be cleaned better in the bathroom, though nothing too serious. The negative aspects were 1) the bed: very uncomfortable, noisy, very soft mattress (so soft that if you sat in the bed, your thighs hit the wooden frame); 2) due to poor architectural design, half of the bathroom window leads to the balcony of the room next door (we only noticed it on our final day). There are blinds to "keep the privacy", but it is impossible to close them without leaving less than half a centimetre left. We haven't had any problems, but if one happens to have a very disrespectful neighbour, the experience could be different. I don't think all rooms are like this, probably only the ones facing the main street. Overall, it was good value for money, and I would recommend it.
“Good deal”
Very pleasant small hotel in a brilliant location - about 150 m from the beach and 150 m from the bus stop along a pedestrianised road with lots of restaurants, coffee bars etc. The bus takes about 15 minutes to the city gate - but is very crowded with locals and tourists. The breakfast is adequate and the staff very helpful and friendly.
“Highly Recommend!”
Rooms at Perla are on the small side but very clean. If you can get on the top floor, some rooms have large terraces. The staff was very friendly and helpful, indoor/outdoor restaurant is very pleasant. The neighborhood of Lapad where the hotel is located is very nice....it's on a pedestrian walkway, lots of small hotels, sidewalk cafes, trees, and a harbor at the end of the walkway with a coastal walking path. A five minute walk to the number 6 bus which runs every 15 minutes and takes about 15 minutes to the main entrance to the old city. To me this very slight inconvenience was more than made up for by being able to get away from the super-crowded atmosphere in the old city to a more relaxing neighborhood. Highly recommend Perla and the family that runs it.
“Fantastic little hotel”
An excellent little hotelfriendly staff, a lovely restaurant and perfectly situated. Room was quite small with a little balcony, all very clean and comfortable with aircon and a power shower.
“Would definitely go back”
Hotel was in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money.
“Decent Value for Money”
Overall, this is a decent hotel with good value for money. Unfortunately no pool or other amenities. But the rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is friendly and the price reasonable.
“A Pleasant Hotel”
