“Great quality hotel, quiet location with parking.”
I can't really fault the Hotel Ivka, this hotel was superb value and I had a really comfortable stay. The hotel is fairly easy to find, I managed to drive there just by memorising the map, parking was easy either outside the front of the hotel or in the hotel garage. The hotel is in a nice quiet area but nearby there is a pedestrianised road full of restaurants and bars as well as others nearer the hotel. The room was very comfortable will great air conditioning and comfy bed. It had a huge balcony, even though I had a room at the back, it meant it was in the sun most of the day. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English too. Breakfast in the morning was very good with a great selection and was good quality. It is a bit of a walk, probably 30mins to the old city of Dubrovnic but some of the walk is quite scenic along the coast. All in all a really good choice for a stay in Dubrovnic.
“Good and affordable.”
The hotel is very simple, but also very clean and convenient. Has air conditioning and is quiet. Easy bus ride into town (bus leaves from in front of hotel). Really good deal. Would stay here again. Booked it twice (at the beginning and end of the trip). Great staff.
“This hotel should get at least a half star more.”
Hotel was renovated not long ago. Rooms are air conditioned. Breakfast is fabulous. Parking spots available. Personnel great, professional.
“Fantastic city-break”
For a family city break, this was a good choice of hotel: it was in a quiet location, the rooms were large and had a balcony and there was free wired Internet access in the bedrooms. The staff were helpful and could all speak adequate English. Though the hotel is a 10-15 minutes bus ride from the old city, there was a convenient bus-stop about 50m up the road and buses run every 15mn.Use bus n06 or 9 to the old city. The pebbled beach at Lapad was a 15 mn walk. Few facilities there in early April but pleasant spot and lovely walks along coastline. Good offer of coffee and cake at hotel by the beach and good fish restaurant close by. Near the hotel, there are a few local shops including a small Pemo supermarket, bars and restaurants open late in a small shopping centre and also a post-office very close(all on Kralja Tomislava street). In the old city, make sure you 'do' the walls(fantastic views in all directions), stop for a coffee at the Gradska Kavana near the Rector's palace, have lunch at the Lokanda Pescarija in front of the old port and that you go to Buza (not cheap but definitely worthwhile)for a drink while watching a breathtaking sunset with swallows swooping around the city walls. We found the best local specialities and helpful service in the old city opposite the Serbian Church in a lovely little shop called 'Franja'(fairly pricey). If you have time, plan a trip to Srd -hill overlooking the city - for a spectacular view of Dubrovnik and inland towards Bosnia.
“best place for the price in dubrovnik”
all the rooms have air conditioning which is very hard to find in croatia, the hotel was in a good location and also had a free garage which is definitely a big plus!!
“Comfortable, clean and well situated”
This hotel is located just the right distance away from the busy 'old town' of Dubrovnik to benefit from alternative destinations to make a varied holiday. Immediately close to the hotel are the beaches and restaurants of Lapad, with scenic coastal walks around the wooded peninsular to Gruz harbour, where the cruise liners berth. Old Dubrovnik is about 2.5k away, which is an interesting walk or easy to reach using either the no6 or no4 buses, both of which stop close to the hotel. The hotel staff are all friendly, helpful and speak English along with other languages. The rooms at the front of the hotel benefit from balconies and would probably be better than those at the rear. The air-con is good and the breakfast fare caters for a wide range of tastes. We would have no hesitation staying at IVKA again and recommending the hotel.
“great staff”
The staff are friendly, nice and helpful! The room was spacy and clean. I would definitely stay there again.
“good value - very clean”
Hotel was very safe and very clean. Breakfast was good. Only downside was that the hotel was a little out of the way from the Old City, but only 10 minutes by bus.
“Overall not bad”
This hotel is not near Dubrovnik's old town, however there is a bus stop nearby that will take you to the old town for 12 kuna (about $2 or 1.6 Euro). It is not far from a nice promenade that has restaurants and ice cream, as well as a tourist information stop and ATM. The hotel itself is reasonable. Bathroom was very clean, shower was one of those open European showers but did have a curtain. The room had AC, and plenty of room, with fairly comfortable beds. Service was great, and I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. I didn't eat any other meals there. Noise level outside the hotel wasn't a problem. I must say, though, that I've heard renting a sobe in Dubrovnik is a better option. I saw them all over the city and several people seem to enjoy it.
“Hotel Ivka, Dubrovnik”
We had a room for 3 people and it was spacious with a huge bathroom. breakfast buffet was good.
