“Looking for an average Hotel”

This Hotel is an average hotel with good sized rooms - a big plus. Altho a little out of town, a good bus service is close to the Hotel. A few ordinary restaurants nearby.

“This hotel should get at least a half star more.”

Hotel was renovated not long ago. Rooms are air conditioned. Breakfast is fabulous. Parking spots available. Personnel great, professional.

“Overall not bad”

This hotel is not near Dubrovnik's old town, however there is a bus stop nearby that will take you to the old town for 12 kuna (about $2 or 1.6 Euro). It is not far from a nice promenade that has restaurants and ice cream, as well as a tourist information stop and ATM. The hotel itself is reasonable. Bathroom was very clean, shower was one of those open European showers but did have a curtain. The room had AC, and plenty of room, with fairly comfortable beds. Service was great, and I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. I didn't eat any other meals there. Noise level outside the hotel wasn't a problem. I must say, though, that I've heard renting a sobe in Dubrovnik is a better option. I saw them all over the city and several people seem to enjoy it.

“Comfortable, clean and well situated”

This hotel is located just the right distance away from the busy 'old town' of Dubrovnik to benefit from alternative destinations to make a varied holiday. Immediately close to the hotel are the beaches and restaurants of Lapad, with scenic coastal walks around the wooded peninsular to Gruz harbour, where the cruise liners berth. Old Dubrovnik is about 2.5k away, which is an interesting walk or easy to reach using either the no6 or no4 buses, both of which stop close to the hotel. The hotel staff are all friendly, helpful and speak English along with other languages. The rooms at the front of the hotel benefit from balconies and would probably be better than those at the rear. The air-con is good and the breakfast fare caters for a wide range of tastes. We would have no hesitation staying at IVKA again and recommending the hotel.

Good to stay, but location is not comfortable... It is far from bus station and also far from old town...

“good value - very clean”

Hotel was very safe and very clean. Breakfast was good. Only downside was that the hotel was a little out of the way from the Old City, but only 10 minutes by bus.

“Would defitinetly go back to Dubrovnik, but would probably stay at another hotel”

For a 3* hotel I was dissapointed that there weren't any tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Public transport by bus was very good as there was a bus stop literally outside the hotel and they came every 10 mins.

all the rooms have air conditioning which is very hard to find in croatia, the hotel was in a good location and also had a free garage which is definitely a big plus!!

“Value for money hotel”

Hotel Ivka is situated a 10/15 min bus ride from the old town on the Lapad Peninsula. The rooms are comfortable. Our room was at the back with no view so might be worth requesitng a front facing room. Small bar/coffee lounge but it is only open until 22:00 hours. Buffet breakfast is included which was quite good. You can walk to the beach about 15 mins. away although there are not a lot of facilities the the beach is very small with most sunbathing done from concrete terraces. Unfotrtunately weather very rainy while we were there (October) so didn't spend any time at the beach. The old town can be reached by No. 6 bus a three/four min. walk from hotel. Buses can get very crowded. Plenty of bars/restaurants in the old town although gets very crowded during the day when the cruise boats are in town. A couple of nice restaurants near the hotel serving Italian style food which is very reasonable. If you want a cheap, clean, no frills hotel not too far from the old city, then this would be a good choice.
