“Relaxing time with lovely food”
My husband & I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location, Mlini was a very nice & relaxing small village. We enjoyed walking by the sea side just outside the hotel. The hotel was big but we did not feel hustled and we did not realized there were many guests staying the hotel until we went to the large dinning room. All staff were courteous and friendly. The dinner and breakfast were excellent in both quality and variety. There were lovely salad bars and a daily changed menu of different fish and meat at night. We both would like to recommend the hotel to our friends. Although it is a 3 stars hotel, it is better than some other 4 stars hotels we have stayed in. We arrived at the hotel from the airport by Atlas bus, but there was no public transportation on the way back to the airport from the hotel and we used taxi. There is a Libertas public bus service No.10 to go to Dubrovnik. There is quite a rise up to the bus stop on the main road from the hotel but it take about only 5 minutes by foot, and we felt it improved our health walking the hill within a few days. When you go to Dubrovnik, ask the driver for the stop for the old town. Many tourists get off at this stop and there is a reasonable short walk down to the old town. The bus stop for the return journey is located at a different place, outside the cable car's station. The hotel also has its own shuttle bus service at an additional cost.
“A lovely October break”
Me and my wife and 14 month old son had a wonderful stay. The staff are extremely friendly and internal decor and location is fabulous. Food is good with lots of choice at dinner. Breakfast is more continental, but still good. Buses run frequently from the road above the hotel to Dubrovnik and Cavtat (a little steep, especially with a push chair, but okay) or the hotel has a shuttle bus to run you about.
“One short night, but a good one”
I had a simple room with a double bed and after a loooooong travel day, it was great. Easily accessed from the airport, neat, clean, everything I needed EXCEPT a clock. My watch died somewhere along the journey and when I awoke jet-lagged in the dark there was no telling what time it was! Also, had I not been so tired I may not have been happy about the music coming from the piano bar one flight down. The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was great and the views amazing. The balcony in the room was a very nice feature, too. I would stay there again.
“A very pleasant holiday”
The accomodation (Asterea 2) was clean and comfortable although the common areas were in need of refurbishment. There were defective lights in the room which were fixed as soon as mentioned to the recption. The staff were universally courteous and helpful, and the food was excellent. The location was eminently suitable for a relaxing break, without being cut off from the sights and attractions of Dubrovnik and the islands.
“Will be returning”
Great hotel in lovely location. 10-15 minute bus ride to Dubrovnik. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is good, pool is great and views are fantastic. Close to several beaches and walk along the coast is great and very scenic. Only downside is that sound insulation isn't good in the rooms so can hear tv and people talking next door.
