“Most wonderful place to visit”
Hotel Adriatic is in a fabulous location. Its about a 30 minute drive from the airport (270 Kuna) but not right near the old city The bus number 4 goes from right in front of the hotel to the old city. The bus trip is a total of about 10 minutes. The advatage of not being right near the old city is the restaurants are far cheaper and of better quality than the old city. The locals don't go to the old city for food as its for the tourists. The hotel is basic but its all you need. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. Its a little dated in decor (looks 1970's) and the breakfast is the same every day and limited but that's not a major issue. Dubrovnik is seriously the most stunning place I've visited. You can also buy a Dubrovnik Card from hotels and tourist outlets. You can get a 1 day, 3 day or 7 day and it gives you unlimited travel on the buses and discount into multiple museums etc as well as the Old Town Wall Walk. Its worth it if you're going to be getting about. My friend and I visited the last week of Sept and the weather was stunning but there weren't that many tourists. Great time to go
“Worst place ever”
I had booked this hotel online according to the pictures, which showed a beautiful hotel. Once we arrived, it was not as shown, it is run down and the front desk staff were very rude and unaccomodating. We entered the room and there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, when mentioned this, we were told" can't control what people do in their rooms" We had requested a non-smoking room! Room was tiny and dingy looking. Needless to say, left this hotel and found a much nicer one down the street!!! Would not recommend this hotel to anyone! No parking to be seen as the tiny lot in front of the hotel was being used by people just going to the beach for the day. I felt upset as I planned this trip to spend some romantic time with my husband who was serving overseas and it was our first time seeing each other in 5 monnths. Big let down!
“Loved the friendly front desk staff.”
The location was awesome. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach, and a 10 minute bus ride into the old town. The bus stop is as soon as you hit the bottom step. It's right there.
“solid hotel”
does what it says on the box
“Convenient place for beach and city”
The hotel is about 15 min by bus from the city center (bus number 4 which runs every 15 min or so, costs 10kuna per trip - run tills 2am), and about 40 min by taxi to/from the airport (about 250kuna). The hotel is just next to the beach which is very convenient, with a very nice sunset view from the beach and our balcony (sea view). It's also near the port where you can take ferry/boat to the islands nearby but we didn't try. The room is very clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning. Staffs are very friendly and helpful - taxi booking service is provided. Breakfast is good, but can be boring if you stay there for 3 days - only ham and cheese and some sausages (but other places in Croatia seem to serve the same stuffs - maybe it's a national breakfast). Sea view room is highly recommended - as you can see sun set from your balcony and it's breathtaking.
“Fantastic Value for Money”
Room (including breakfast buffet) was great value for money. Hotel very convenient to beach and bus into town only took 10 minutes. Definitely recommend this hotel!
“Paying for the view”
This hotel is ideal for those who care more about the view rather than the courtesy of the staff or having a functioning air conditioner or edible breakfast. We stayed here 2 separate nights and requested that we be put in the same room on our second stay, and they refused. The second time we checked in our room didn't have proper air conditioning and it was so hot in the summer! We requested to be moved to a different room, but they refused. The staff were not very friendly, and nobody offered to help us with our bags - no lifts by the way. Nonetheless, bus stopped just outside the hotel and the Adriatic Sea was just in front of the hotel. So if all you want is a room to dump your bags for a reasonable price, then I can recommend this hotel. Just don't expect anything that you get from a regular hotel. This hotel is pretty old, but definitely clean - though the smell of smoke is pervasive. People in this country smoke everywhere - including air conditioned buses and hotel rooms. No such thing as non-smoking room/floor.
