Kroatien Nov. 2014

Posted 21-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com

Posted 27-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com

Posted 24-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com

Amazing location but service lacking

Posted 14-Sep-2014
The hotel is perfectly located in the old town and the staff friendly enough. The room was lovely but lacks a view. The inclusive breakfast and roof terrace a definite highlight but on the whole the hotel lacked the personalized service a hotel of that size (and at that cost) warrants. For example, we arrived to our room being set up with twin beds, there was no offer to help with bags etc. Some forethought and a more enthusiastic welcome by the reception staff would have entirely changed our experience.

Fabulous. Staff was very accommodating. We had a 4:00am departure and they packed us breakfast.

Comfortable hotel within the old city walls

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: The roof top terrace, staff and comfortable bed.
Cons: The shower gel should have been topped up without us having to ask, and the bar lacked Grand Marnier. Otherwise hard to fault.
Location: Walk the city walls, which give great views in all directions. Take the cable car to the fortress above the town. Boat trips. Stroll the streets.
Nice roof-top restaurant for breakfast and dinner, quality food and service and very helpful and friendly staff. No lift, but the staff took the luggage up for us.

The hotel was great but wasn't as good as expected

Posted 28-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was newly renovated so everything inside was new and comfortable. But probably because it's an old building, the soundproof was not well done, especially when other guests were walking up the stairs. (No lift - so I was glad I wasn't assigned to the upper floors.) The bathroom was modern and spacious, well-lit, even equipped with towel heating rack. But the air conditioner was a bit disappointing - it was set to as low as 19C, but it couldn't cool the room much. Also, the extra bed was way too soft, and apparently it was the only one in the hotel, so it wasn't a very comfortable sleep on the extra bed. Breakfast at rooftop was great - the view and the food selection. But our server was not unfriendly but just seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of the tiny dining area - our plates and bread basket were taken away before I finished my food. So I didn't dare to ask for more food (it's a buffet by order style, which is actually VERY inconvenient for both parties.) But other staff had been helpful and friendly. The location is new Pile Gate, so it's great in one sense, but it also means that we had to haul in our luggage - we were told that they do not have bell boy to help us to carry our bags to the gate. So, unless you don't mind hauling your bags into the old town or you have barely any luggage, I wouldn't recommend staying inside the old town. So, all in all, it was a fun experience but for the price paid, I felt it hasn't quite reached that standard.
