Great spot.

Posted 23-May-2015
Pros: The location was A-1.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Came directly from and airport and returned there the next morning. The beach was very important to my enjoyment.
This hotel has charm - the water-views don't hurt either. Location, location, location. Enjoyed a great walk on the beach after a loooong flight. The food was just what I wanted - Irish cuisine. The people were most friendly; on the beach, in the restaurant, and the staff.

On the beach

Posted 17-May-2015
Pros: Views
Cons: Beds need replacing. Bistro is overpriced.
Location: It is extremely close to the airport but without the noise and with a view.
This hotel is right on the beach with beautiful views of islands etc. The room was clean and staff were friendly. Only negatives were a hard bed with springs that I could feel and over priced food in the bistro with poor service.

Time at the sea was wonderful

Posted 14-May-2015
Pros: Location, staff and service and the great food.
Cons: Stains could be removed and light dusting done
Location: Visit Donabate, train into Dublin and hop on and off tour of Dublin
The view is to die for! The rooms are fine, not exceptional like the view hotel staff and food! Would definitely go back if I had a chance.

ask for a room with a view!

Posted 24-Apr-2015
Pros: Beautiful setting, staff very helpful.
Cons: Our room without the ocean view was not clean. Carpet very dirty and 2nd (twin) bed lumpy and uncomfortable
Location: We didn't take the time to explore, rushed off to the city life...
We came to Ireland for just a few days, and while the hotel was lovely, we found we wanted to be closer to Dublin and public transportation was limited to once an hour, with the last run at 11:30pm which wasn't enough time in the city for Irish music! Staff was very helpful--there was a problem with their shuttle and they provided a taxi. And, even with canceling the rest of our reservation, the Manager rushed us in his car to catch the train to Dublin. Oh, and breakfast was delicious!

Awesome Location, Run-down facility!

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: Location on the beach. Near Dublin airport. Loved the design and old-world charm.
Cons: This hotel could be a GEM with investment in upkeep! Very shoddy maintenance and repairs! It looked like repairs had been done by a child.
Location: 15 minutes north of Dublin Airport, right on the sea.
Beautifully designed hotel right on the beach. Reception was fast and friendly. Very nice bar/restaurant overlooking the ocean. Old world charm ... all disgracefully wanting for maintenance. It's heartbreaking to see the state this beautiful place has come to. While I do recommend this hotel because of the price and location, potential visitors should know the truth.

Great location - fantastic sea views

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Unfortunately it felt like a travelodge, which is a shame because the location is fantastic. Possibly there were staffing issues whilst we were there due to lovely weather bringing more visitors than expected? Tables uncleared on the terrace (which could be beautiful with a little effort put into design) made it feel shabby. Room was perfectly clean with fantastic sea view (ours was a standard double). However the water was not warm (nor was there much pressure) which seemed odd in a hotel. There was plenty of choice for breakfast but personally I would much prefer a few things done well. And the ready made tea in urn was not good, something which could easily be addressed. (I don't necessarly expect coffee to be great as hotels rarely have proper machines or trained baristas) I would currently only recommend this hotel on the basis of the great location and the reasonable rates. Hopefully improvements will be made and it will realise it's full potential in the future.

This was not at all what you would expect!! The rooms are not what the pictures show at all. They are very tiny we didn't have any room for our suitcases, the bath was gross, the staff is extremely rude!! We didn't even stay for the night & slept at the airport!!!!
