“Bus access to centre is great”

Some building works but always courteous and didn't start til 8am not really a problem. Great bus access to the city centre for 1.80 euros and excellent access to the airport via Dublin Bus for 1.80 euros (don't take the airlinks bus as it's 6 euros) and only saves you a few minutes. Leisure facilities are really nice but the pool was a little over-chlorinated (best to bring goggles if you want a long swim) and you need to wear a swimming hat (available for 3 euros at the leisure reception). Nice cosy bar had decent enough entertainment to pass the time over a pint or four. Trouser press was broken in the room (was loose and came off the wall).

“Very impressed”

Very impressed with the hotel but the only disappointment was the swimming pool was delayed opening and was not available for my stay - I had been looking forward to it - scrupulously clean rooms and great service and breakfast. The area is quiet and I had the most magnificent view over dublin and seeing it lit up at night was wonderful.

“nice older hotel”

I was rather concerned about staying here because the reviews weren't great. However, it turned out to be fine. I did like to stay in B&B's (but they have become too expensive). This is an old hotel, but everything was clean. Since I had paid through expedia, I thought I might get a bad room, but we were on the top floor in a QUIET, spacious room with a great view. We bought a bus pass and the hotel is quite near the bus stop, maybe 15 minutes to city centre. Some of the staff were extra friendly and some weren't (just like at home). We walked to Tesco and an Italian restaurant, but both are several blocks. I would definitely stay here again.

“We were not disappointed”

Room was completely satisfactory. The breakfast was good quality and value for money as were the bar meals. The staff were all cheerful and helpful and coped well at busy times. We could hear the bar's Saturday night entertainment in our room but it had ended by midnight. The hotel is well located as there is regular & cheap public transport both into town and to the airport these being a short journey away. It is within easy walking distance of Croke Park too.

“Would stay here again”

Hotel is just off a main road into the city. Frequent buses with a bus stop 100mtrs from the door. Lovely leisure centre, which was great on a wet Saturday afternoon. We stayed on a room only basis & found the hotel to be excellent. No problems whatsoever. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

“Great hotel to stay at. Very friendly staff.”

My friend and I were so excited to finally be going to Ireland. The Regency Hotel was awesome. Staff was very very friendly. Rooms were very well kept up and if you needed anything even it it was 3am they would bring it right to your room. The view that we had from our room was great we could see City Centre. I would recommend this hotel for everyone. I would stay there again and again!!!

“Very Impressed”

Arrived @ hotel way b4 check in time - greeted by very friendly staff, who checked us in early & arranged for a porter to store our luggage. As it was only 9am & we weren't due to check in till 3pm I was impressed. Understandably the room wasn't ready, but reception advised that if we returned by 12pm we could collect our key - still 3hrs before check in time. Having read previous reviews we were aware of the Dublin hop on/off tour - purchased tickets at a reduced rate @ recpeption. After exploring Dublin, we arrived back @ the hotel & collected our room key & luggage straight away. V.impressed with room - v.spacious & we each had a double bed, which as an frequent travel I found most unusual for a twin room. That evening we booked a table @ the Seasons restaurant & had a sumptious meal. The service was excellent as was the food. V.gd value 4 money, plenty of choice. Hotel bar was gd - live entertainment excellent. Breakfast was served in the Shanard restaurant & was a self service buffet - full irish/continental breakfast - plenty of choice! Overall the Regency Hotel made our stay very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly & helpful, the rooms confortable & spacious & the food served in the restaurants was excellent. At the time of our stay the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment which will include a leisure centre. I will definitely be returning to Dublin & plan to stay in the Regency Hotel again.
