Good location

Posted 25-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Supplies in the room Cleanliness of bathroom Overall cleanliness of floor - we found tissue that obviously was not cleaned from previous guests.
Location: Good location.
The staff at The Belvedere were very friendly and quite accommodating when asked questions or needed anything brought to the room. We had a room with 4 beds and we had to ask each day except for the last day for extra towels for all of us. We had to call reception for toilet paper and we also had to call reception for an iron. The bathroom shower curtain was dirty on the bottom and there was a mildew smell in the bathroom all the time The hotel was in a good location. It was close to everything we needed and the breakfast at 8 euros per person was a good value.

Central to Downtown Dublin

Posted 08-Jul-2015
We were able to walk to just about everywhere we wanted to go. There is no AC in the rooms and it was warm for Dublin while we were there. We kept the window open but the street is very noisy and that made it difficult to sleep. They were able to give us a fan for our room and that helped a lot. Overall, a clean room to lay our heads down and an easy walk to wherever we wanted to go.

The hotel was fine, the staff and food great. Room was small, stuffy, shabby and grubby.

Nice location

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Cons: Help with baggage to the side lower level area. There were multiple stairs and doors on the way to the room and it was difficult with baggage!
Comfortable room and courteous staff. Irish Nights program was cancelled on the night of our stay.

Good location, not so good Hotel.

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: The location. Rooms were reasonably clean - apart from the fire hazard tucked behind the radiator - old newspapers and dusty socks.
Cons: Updating, complete overhaul, with the high room rate, they should be able to afford it.
Location: Short walk to O'Connell street, 15 minute walk to Temple Bar area. Great café directly across the street from the hotel. Hop on/off bus very close.
Hotel is very outdated, needs new carpets, old building with slanted floors. Taking the stairs to get down to the lobby was a labyrinth, elevator was too slow. Room was unbelievably hot and stuffy, had the window completely open, had to call the front desk to get a fan - first thing they ask is "Did you open the window?" - genius!. The fan they brought up was broken and made a terribly loud clicking sound, asked for another and this one barely moved any air - cheap Tesco fan, worked backwards too. Loud banging doors courtesy of neighbouring rooms. Shower head was installed too low, had to duck. Paid way too much for this hotel, not worth half of what we paid!

OK for price paid

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Price
Cons: Soft drinks from the bar were not chilled so they should invest in a fridge.
On the outskirts of the busy part so good if you want to get away from the noise. Possibly a problem with pigeons as was woken by cooing noises outside the window - as the windows have stick on frosting I couldn't see out to look. TV wasn't working on first night but had been fixed for the next night. For the £50ish per night it was reasonable, but wouldn't want to pay much more.

Overpriced

Posted 19-Jun-2015
I have had several over night stays in Dublin due to business and this hotel was what you would expect from the average hotel there. I was located to the front of the hotel which was noisy (no double glazing), probably because it is on a main road and above a pub. The room was old fashioned and dated but clean and suitable. Wi-Fi cut out for hours. Bed was comfy. Good size TV. Breakfast area was very nice and good choice of food. Note to hotel: Give us fried eggs, not that sloppy wet stuff you call scrambled. Disappointed because I paid €140 for a double room but the experience was only worth about €80.

fresh and clean,

Posted 30-May-2015
Pros: very clean
Cons: nets on windows or a blind for privacy.
Location: close to everything worth seeing.
stayed here this week 25/28 may.the hotel must have had a recent refurb and painting.new carpets etc.it was bright clean and fresh, our room was above the pub ,but I couldn't hear any noise at all, best sleep ever at a hotel.we usually use jurys inn on parnell street, never again the belvedere is much much cheaper no constant slamming of doors, nice staff, close to everything you need and to all attractions.
