“Quiet and Comfortable”
The Belvedere is pleasant and comfortable. Possibly because my room was at the end of a corridor, I had absolutely the best sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The decor was clean, though a little worn. One small annoyance was the taps over the bathroom sink- they were of the "frisky" kind that couldn't be turned on without getting a soaking. Breakfast was buffet-style, with a wide range of food on offer. It was all very well organised, with frequent replenishment of supplies from the kitchen. On one occasion I tried the evening "meal deal", which was good value for money and tasty (vegetable soup, Irish stew). Although the "top of the town" area where the hotel is situated isn't the liveliest part of Dublin, there are some important museums nearby- the Writers' Museum, the Dublin City Gallery (with Bacon's studio), and the James Joyce Museum. The Gate Theatre is close by, and the Tourist Information Office at 14 Connelly Street is a short walk down the hill. I would certainly stay at the Belvedere again. I would recommend it to couples, families and older single travellers.
“Nice Hotel”
Good location, Clean Hotel, freindly Helpfull Staff
“Great Hotel Great Price!”
This was a really nice hotel with a great price. The bar/restaurant was nice with good food. Great location as well! I will definitly be going back as I only had one night.
“will be going back soon and taking friends with us.”
The hotel made our first visit to Dublin a pleasure. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do more to help. As a vegetarian i struggled to find a good meal but the chef went out of his way to cook me a tasty dinner.Everything about The Belvedere Hotel was good value for money and we will be going back again and again.Dublin is a fantastic place to visit and we can't wait to go back.
“will stay there again”
let's be honest, you get what you pay for, all i need on a break is a decent room to sleep, shower and dress in. the room was slightly noisy from the hotel opposite and it was a main street, (this is not a complaint) we slept anyhow. the hotel bar was basic but OK, the eating area at night when i looked in was full, so that says something. never had a meal at the hotel so i don't know what was on offer, we did go to the restaurant in the morning for coffee but the coffee machine was playing up, this could happen at any hotel.reception were always pleasant and helpful, clean towels every day, bed made up nicely, tea and coffee replenished daily, what more could you expect from a reasonable priced hotel ? only 10 Min's walk to O'Connell street and a steady 20 min walk over the Liffey to the shops and temple bar, where there is plenty of bars and eating places, every time we visit Dublin we eat at O'Neill's, very reasonable prices, for Dublin, all in all the hotel is good, well located, comfy, you don't need anything else, well satisfied.
“Excellent hotel, highly recommend”
The belvedere hotel, parnell square was a perfect location for a city break, situated just north of O'Connell St. Easy to find and just minutes walk away from shopping central, many bars, restaurants just round the corner, yet once in the hotel you foget how close you are to the centre, piece and quiet. Rooms were spotless, reception staff very helpful, bar was cosy with friendly staff, good food also.
“Good Value Hotel,”
Close to the centre...clean good value hotel...girl on reception very helpful...wireless internet complimentary... would recommend to anyone looking for good value hotel.
“Standard and comfortable”
We were given a comfortable, quiet room and thought it was great value for money, however, we underestimated how close it would be to the center and spent most of the time walking! Being a young couple, we wanted to be in the center right in the middle of it all... and it is a mission to get anywhere from this hotel!
“Nice little Hotel in Dublin”
We arrived at the Hotel at 9 am, so we were well before check in at around 2, so we left our bags with reception and went for a walk. Found ourselves back near the Hotel at 12, so we asked if the room was ready and it was so we managed to get in 2 hours early. The room was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable, the only minor point against the room was that it was quite warm and humid when we were there, and there wasnt a lot of airflow through the room. Not sure that this would be a major problem due to the general weather conditions for Ireland, we just happened to be there when it was hot :). The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would go there again without any hesitation. The location is quite good and within walking distance of several of the main streets, and just off the bus routes to everywhere else. We didnt eat at the hotel, but the bar was quite nice, and reasonably priced for Dublin.
“The Belvedere: An ideal location for a short stay in Dublin”
The Belvedere hotel is in an ideal location for a short stay in Dublin. It is only 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street: O'Connell Street and has easy access to bus services to other parts of the City and to the airport. Located off the main street it does not suffer from excessive traffic noise, although we did get woken up early in the morning by the street cleaners. The hotel is not flashy, but is comfortable and well appointed. The bedrooms are large, with ample cupboard space and include an en suite bathroom. The breakfast bar on the ground floor serves both traditional and continental breakfast, so there is plenty of choice and no shortage of food. At 6.5 euros, the continental breakfast represents good value for money.
