“Pretty decent hotel”
Overall decent hotel. There were a few things that bugged me, like some black spots on the pillow but it wasn't a big deal. The room is spacious for 1 and pretty clean. Internet was free and wired. Would've liked to see a wireless option as well.
“Helpful staff”
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The 2nd-floor room was comfortable.Breakfast was very good. I enjoyed my stay in Dublin and the staff helped make it pleasant. I would defiinely return.
“Very pleasant stay”
Arrived very early in the morning but room was immediately available. Hotel a bit of a walk from the main city area but the walk alongside the Liffy was very pleasant. Bedroom OK but aircon would have been nice rather than doing battle with patio window. Breakfast was good as were both eveing meals, one in the main restaurant, one in the bistro/bar. Check out very efficient. I would go back.
“Quality Hotel”
I thought this was a really nice hotel. The staff where very friendly and it was extremeley clean. The restaurant was exceptionally good with amazing food in the evening. Although I wasn't very impressed with the breakfast and didn't feel that it represented good value. It was also a little further from the centre of town than it seeemed on the map but this did allow us to have some nice 15 minute walks along the river front.
“Worst Attitude Ever Experienced in a hotel Anywhere”
Having arrived from a long trip from Australia at 10:30am I requested that I be allowed to access a room as soon as one becmae available rather than wait for the 2:00pm check-in time. I was told that all rooms became available at 2:00 and not before. I pointed out that rooms became progressivly available throughout the morning as they were vacated and made up by housekeepng staff. I was told I was wrong and they all became avaailable at exactly the same time - 2:00pm. I was then told I could wait in the foyer until 2:00 or do something else. Given I had just arrived in Dublin and it was raining very heavily I said I had no option but to wait. The check-in clerk laughed loudly and said there were always options in life and I could find something else to do rather than wait in the foyer. I then insisted (thankfully) that I complete the registration formalities. I had to insist because the less-than-helpful check-in clerk did not want to do this. I gave him my name and he could not find my booking. He then rather sneerily asked if in fact I had evidence of the alleged booking. I produced my Expedia receipt that contained not only the confirmed booking but also confirmation of pre-payment in full. At last the sneer disappeared from his face. The issue for me is the dreadful attitude and lack of customer service communication skills experienced at this hotel. All Maldron hotels are on my blacklist.
“Great hotel for business or leisure”
Huge rooms, good communal areas and excellent gym facilities. Food and drinks are comparative to local bars and restaurants - which is unusual for hotel of this standard. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful!
“Wonderful holiday”
We stayed at the Maldron for 11 nights. Our room was on the 7th floor with a balcony that overlooked the River Liffey and the Grand Canal Theater. Our room was very quiet. The staff was wonderful. For a quick bite to eat and a pint, the Vertigo Bar was easy. For a sit down meal, the Stir Resturant has great food and service. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast..Prices are comparable with all the resturants and pubs in town.. Everything in Ireland is expensive, everything. We would definetly stay there again. J & D
“Good Stay”
A pleasant stay, they always have a taxi out front and good customer service. I would stay there again.
“Good night in Dublin”
I arrived in hotel at 1pm and as I had to wait until 2pm to check in I enjoyed the comfort of the bar to meet up with old friends. My room was spacious and airy and I could see the Liffey from my window. Had evening meal in the Gourmet Bar, meal tasty and staff very friendly. I had a lovely breakfast after which I was able to relax in my room until check-out time at 12.
“Lovely walk along the Liffey.”
If you enjoy a walk (which we do) then this hotel is for you. It's a lovely walk along the Liffey to get to it. We had a very nice, comfortable room though bathroom is cramped if you're both getting ready at the same time. We had breakfast in the hotel which was very substantial - remember and ask at reception for 10 euro voucher. We also had dinner the first night we stayed and it was lovely. Really very satisfied overall with the hotel and Dublin is a great city to visit.
