“Absolutely Fine.”
I'm regretting reading the reviews for Lynam's Hotel on here before leaving as it put presuppositons in my mind of what to expect - completely were not true ! The hotel was absolutely fine for what I paid for it. THe room was nice, spacious and clean, comfortable, although a little too warm. The staff were friendly and we were right in the centre of the town, walked to every attraction we went too. No complaints, if you're looking for a cheap hotel in the centre of Dublin I would definately reccommend Lynams.
“Nice one”
Very central to every thing that we needed staff at hotel always smiled, the front desk was always manned & they could give you answers to any questions. Really enjoyed our stay.
“Great Value Hotel”
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the excellent transport system made visiting other parts of Berlin from this hotel very easy. Only downside was limited food options around the hotel area.
“Dublin is better during the summer”
The hotel was right at the bus stop, just in front of the Spike! The staff was friendly and the room very comfortable!
“Excellent location”
This hotel was situated in an excellent location not too far from anywhereand our room was high enough that noise from the street wasn't an issue. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed but there were some cleanliness issues. There always seemed to be someone on reception and there was a cafe/restaurant downstairs which we could have used if we'd not wanted to go out.
“fine”
nice and central, but far enough away from temple bar that we could sleep. probably not the best hotel in dublin, but comfy and fine for the price.
“Not the boutique hotel suggested. Noisy too.”
Arrived to find carnage in the lobby - a number of rooms appeared to have been double-booked and the poor receptionist, with no support from hotel management, was trying calm irate guests and book alternative accommodation in the city - no easy task. Fortunately our room was not affected, and we were (eventually) able to check in. The room itself was basic but okay for what we'd paid. Hardly a boutique hotel though, and the suggestion on the hotel's own website that it is decorated to maximise the building's Georgian ambiance might just about hold true in halls and stairwells but is laughable when applied to the rooms. Bathroom was the worst - toilet seat very loose, as was the hot tap (turn it on and it swung out over the side of the sink). Best (in an ironic sense) of all was the gap between the sink and wall which had been filled with beige sealant in a manner that suggests it was done by a pre-school child. Also, there's no air con, and it was hot and humid during our stay, so we had to sleep with the window open - since our (and many) of the room's overlook O'Connell Street, this makes it very, VERY noisy. Take earplugs. On the plus side, it's well located and available at reasonable rates through Expedia. Don't plan on watching much TV in your room though - our set only had watchable 1 channel.
“A mixed bag”
Initial impressions were not good, with the reception staff seemingly unaware of my reservation when I arrived (it was later found on a crumpled printout under some other paperwork). Disappointingly, an attempt was also made to charge me for the room on my departure, despite the room being paid for in advance. The décor was a little dilapidated, and the television/telephone were fine technology back in their day, but the room was comfortable enough and occupied a relatively quiet space at the rear of the building. The location can't be faulted, near to bus, tram and train. 10 minutes' walk will lead to many of Dublin's major attractions. Were I to travel to Dublin again, I'd pick somewhere else.
“Lynams, Dublin.”
only need a cheap room for the night, got a double room at Lynams for 31 quid. bargain for the location. near the spire on o'connell street. double room was large and the room was clean. shower pressure was good. 14" TV with bad picture (but i wasn't there to watch TV). the view from the window was of the back of the hotel (but i wasn't there for the view) If you aren't fussy and just want a cheap, central location for a night then the hotel is fine. I was only in town for a gig and the drink so it was fine for me. cheap and cheerful with free wifi.
“not impressed”
I thought the hotel looked a bit "tired" in general, and the decor rather shabby
