Hotel ideal for nightlife

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Lovely Georgian features and friendly staff.
Cons: Staff should ask visitors if they are there for a quiet stay and offer them a room at the back of the hotel.
Location: Location would be great for 20 somethings looking for an active nightclub scene. Apart from that, St Stephens Park and Grafton Street are nearby.
We picked this hotel because it looked really nice and was located centrally. The hotel itself is clean and homely, with some beautiful Georgian features and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, it is located in the middle of a number of very popular nightclubs which close at 6am. We were put in a room on the front of the hotel which meant that we were woken between 4am and 6am every morning as people started to leave and this continued until well after 6am with taxi's pressing their horns for around half an hour as there were terrible traffic jams. The tram also passed by our window and its bell was set off in regular patterns until around 11pm. So not much sleep was to be had! We would only recommend this hotel to people who were hoping to frequent these nightclubs and want somewhere nearby to stay. Not suitable for mature couples or families, sorry!

A++++ - in all but one respect.

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Location: Generally a quieter busy street under five minute walk from St Stephen's Green and Grafton street. 2 minutes from the super trendy Cake Café
Wonderful location, huge clean room, nice staff. BUT, our room was across from the back door, where you can go out for a smoke. And these people smoke loudly and all night - including 2:30 and 5:30 am on a Wednesday morning. I would stay here again in a minute but not in room 3.

Close to the city centre

Posted 05-Dec-2014
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Some of the staff could improve upon their customer service skills - a little too officious at times.
Location: Great location for most attractions in and around Dublin
We got a very good price for a 3 night stay which represented great value for money. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and convenient for a range of transport routes. An older style hotel which was clean and functional. The dining facilities were adequate and in general terms, we had a very pleasant stay.

Good location. Old style hotel.

Posted 03-Dec-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Rooms upgraded. We saw some rooms that were more modern and larger. Would make sure we booked a better room.
Location: Dublin city.
Room was smaller and older than pictured on web site. Good location and parking. Breakfast was not included, but if booked the night before, a great value.

Close to Everything

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: The Location. The light rail system stops right in front of the hotel.
Cons: Soundproofing.
This was my second visit. The last one was a short stay, however this one was five days. I would recommend this place for a quick overnighter or a couple of days. There are several dance clubs in the vicinity and it gets quite loud most of the night. I've stayed both in the front and back and there was no difference. In terms of value for money, it is in a great location with Grafton Street ten minutes away walk and St. Stephen's Green even closer. The rooms are tired but the bathrooms are newer and decent.

Great Location, near St Stephens Green

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: Great Location & Friendly Staff
The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, a couple of minor problems were sorted out quickly and without fuss. Although breakfast is available on site there is no bar or restaurant at the hotel so that's why the lower score for facilities..though there are plenty of places nearby if you want a cuppa or something stronger after you have been exploring.

Lovely Hotel but no sleep!

Posted 17-Nov-2014
We arrived early for our stay and reception could not of been more helpful, they took our bags and sent us to their sister hotel so we could grab breakfast. After checking in to our room lTer that day we thought wow what a lovely place, room was spacious, clean & tidy The hotel its self eas beautiful and kept in its traditional state This was lovely till the nightclubs began at around 9 then through till 5 am the next morn , so we never hardly slept the whole stay! We were probably in the worst room as well as room 15 is at the front of the hotel. Sunday night was the only night there was no din! I feel sorry for the hotel as we noticed another building was being renivated and was soon to open as another nightclub.

Comfortable city centre hotel

Posted 12-Nov-2014
Pros: Reasonable rates, very clean, great location.
Cons: Very pleased with my stay so would change nothing.
Location: Hotel is located on a busy street of businesses, restaurants and bars but still quiet in room at night. Short walk to bustling Grafton St.
This hotel was a great find. A great city centre location, just approximately 7 minutes walk from St Stephens Green at the top of Grafton St. Very reasonable rates for such a prime location. Good sized room, big double bed, gorgeous tiled bathroom, crisp, fresh linen and spotlessly clean fluffy white towels. Very impressed.

Really nice hotel

Posted 09-Nov-2014
Pros: During the morning you could sit and read the papers in a beautiful drawing room. It is within walking distance of the city. It had secure car parking
Cons: Triple glazing on the windows.
Location: Five minutes from the city. National museum nearby, dail eireann within walking distance, lots of night clubs on the street.
This hotel was warm and homely it was spotlessly clean. The beds were really comfortable and the staff were great. The only negitive was the noise at night we did have a back room but you could still hear a din but it didn't spoil our stay.
