A lot better than we thought

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, shower/tub, friendly staff, very comfortable bed.
Cons: Electrical wiring. : / The noise level was noticeable but nothing they can do about it. It's an old building like every other place in Dublin.
Location: It's on a very popular local's pub/nightclub hangout. 5 on the street open until 4am. Next door, in the sister hotel is a HUGE bar. Walking to DT.

Stay Here If You Like Noise And No Sleep

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: Breakfast was a good deal if you bought it ahead of time at the front desk.
Cons: Demand a curfew on the noise no later than midnight.
Location: There are things to do but be prepared for much walking.
Even though we were put in the back on the third floor, the noise raged on throughout the night; singing, loud voices, noise into the wee hours of the morning like 4:30 am.

Classy hotel close to the city center

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: bargain price for how nice the furnishings were, location, helpful staff
Cons: air conditioning during the summer, better insulated windows to keep out sound
Location: 2 dance clubs (Dicey's Garden, Copper Face Jack's)
Much fancier furnishings than I expected for the price, spacious room, comfortable beds, splendid breakfast service. It's down the street from 2 fun bars - Dicey's Garden and Copper Face Jack's. The club music could be heard from my room late at night but it didn't bother me too much. It's within walking distance from Grafton Street, Trinity College and Temple Bar. Only downside is there's no air conditioning in the room but that's typical in the Irish hotels I've stayed at, and not a huge deal because we were out during the day.

It was the right hotel location-wise

Managed to get to and from anything walking since it's the most centrally located hotel around.

Great location but noisy.

Posted 02-Jun-2014
The hotel was nice and in a great location but it's across the street from a bunch of nightclubs. Taxis honking their horns picking up partiers how's on from 3-5 am, so bring ear plugs! Other than that, its cool.

Good hotel, pity about the neighbours

Posted 20-May-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Better sound proofing to reduce noise from neighbouring late night establishments.
Location: Close to St Stephen Green.
Good hotel with spacious rooms for a city centre hotel with all expected facilities including free wifi. Breakfast was fine although slightly cramped in the basement area. Only real nuisance is the late night / early morning revellers leaving the night club / bar on the other side of the road who ensure that sleep is disturbed, even on a Monday night. I can only assume that there is less or no disturbance if you stayed in the rooms to the rear. Would I stay again? Yes if during the week as the location is great and noise was not too inconvenient but not sure about weekends.

Excellent location

Posted 28-Apr-2014
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in April. I requested a room at the back of the townhouse so noise from the street below would not be an issue, but one night there seemed to be a loud party in the neighborhood which did awaken my husband. Must be said, street noise seems to be an issue with many of the hotels in the city. Staff at reception desk was friendly and helpful, the common areas are comfortable and quiet. The location is fantastic, only 5 min walk to Grafton Street. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the desk area in the room makes a great "vanity" space. Breakfast offerings were good, however, we were disappointed with the staff in the breakfast room as they did not offer explanation that we were to serve ourselves from the refrigerator for cold items; juices, cheese, meats, fruits, so it was confusing. The first morning our server was very friendly, kind and prompt. The second morning we had a different server (long blonde hair) and she was very rude, slow to serve (it was not busy), snooty attitude, and when I told her my poached eggs were overdone, she replied "sorry" and walked away without offer to re-order.

Near downtown Dublin, easy walk, great breakfast

Posted 27-Apr-2014
Pros: Good value for the money, excellent location, excellent breakfast (E7.95)
Cons: Take a room in the back.
Location: Park nearby, Grafton Street shopping nearby, excellent restaurants nearby, viking duck tours, horse and carriage rides, double decker bus tour nearby.
We had a suite which was two beds, then a loft and third bed. It was excellent. We were in the back of the hotel. Excellent location near the park and center of Dublin. My brother was in a room out front and heard the train until midnight, the train passes the front of the hotel.
