Excellent hotel

Posted 13-Sep-2014
Harrington Hall is in a good location within walking distance of a number of the main tourist attractions and the main shopping area and with good connections to those further away. It is also relatively near to a bus stop for the Aircoach bus service. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout my stay. The room was a decent size and room cleanliness was of a high standard. It was good value for money when compared to the price of other hotels in Dublin. The hotel has character which for someone who spends a lot of time staying in business hotels was a very welcome change. I was a female travelling by myself and felt extremely safe both in the hotel itself and its surrounding area. It was difficult to find anything to fault regarding the hotel itself. The only negative aspect related to noise at night over which the hotel probably has little control. I was in a front-facing room and there are a number of nightclubs in the vicinity. Whilst there wasn't a continuous noise coming from these throughout the night, I was woken up every night by crowds leaving the clubs when they closed and the traffic noise and beeping of horns this generated. It didn't completely ruin my stay and I would stay at the hotel again but I would ask for a back-facing room if I went there again.

nice hotel close to the center

Very beautiful hotel close to the centre of Dublin, I've never used buses!!! The room was very big and comfortable with all necessary. Breakfast could be better, but it's good enough.

I little gem in Dublin

Posted 16-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
What a nice little hotel at the fringe of Dublin CBD. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants as well as close to the temple bar (15-20min slow walk) Reasonable breakfast cost with a basic but good and sufficient menu. We had a room towards the garden and it has been quiet and relaxing. I recommend this hotel.

A lot better than we thought

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, shower/tub, friendly staff, very comfortable bed.
Cons: Electrical wiring. : / The noise level was noticeable but nothing they can do about it. It's an old building like every other place in Dublin.
Location: It's on a very popular local's pub/nightclub hangout. 5 on the street open until 4am. Next door, in the sister hotel is a HUGE bar. Walking to DT.

Stay Here If You Like Noise And No Sleep

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: Breakfast was a good deal if you bought it ahead of time at the front desk.
Cons: Demand a curfew on the noise no later than midnight.
Location: There are things to do but be prepared for much walking.
Even though we were put in the back on the third floor, the noise raged on throughout the night; singing, loud voices, noise into the wee hours of the morning like 4:30 am.

Price

Posted 23-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
Very overpriced for our overnight stay. Room on lower ground very small. Breakfast not included in the price and because our stay was over a weekend, breakfast more expensive than during the week. Very disappointing - 3/5

Classy hotel close to the city center

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: bargain price for how nice the furnishings were, location, helpful staff
Cons: air conditioning during the summer, better insulated windows to keep out sound
Location: 2 dance clubs (Dicey's Garden, Copper Face Jack's)
Much fancier furnishings than I expected for the price, spacious room, comfortable beds, splendid breakfast service. It's down the street from 2 fun bars - Dicey's Garden and Copper Face Jack's. The club music could be heard from my room late at night but it didn't bother me too much. It's within walking distance from Grafton Street, Trinity College and Temple Bar. Only downside is there's no air conditioning in the room but that's typical in the Irish hotels I've stayed at, and not a huge deal because we were out during the day.
