“Dublin Apartment”
Really nice apartment, clean and tidy, wifi worked and only a short walk to the tourist areas. It is self catering but there is a SPAR and Tesco Express in the next street. I found the staff to be very helpful, one even googled the Navan Road and found the part where I use to stay 30 years ago. When I am next in Dublin I will stay there again
“Great locale and location”
Spacious rooms with living room and kitchen, very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location within easy walkin distance from temple bar area, trinity college and guiness factory. Liked it so much that we came back to stay in for two additional nights. Highly recommend it.
“no way!”
the bathroom smelt of urine so we didn't end up staying here
“Great place to stay”
Staff very friendly, great location for lots of things in walking distance, amazing deal for amenities offered!
“St Paddy's fun”
Great location for everything you could want to do in Dublin. We were within walking distance of everything. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The only complaint is that we had some maintenance issues that never got addressed despite reporting them more than once. The first being that the shower head wouldn't staff up on the wall. You had to hold onto it
“Clean and comfortable, a little dodgy though!”
The St Augustine Apartments were both good and bad. On the plus side, the apartments were clean, large and comfortable. They had everything we needed including a large kitchen and a washer/dryer. Upon check-in, my partner and I also received an upgrade from a one bedroom to a two bedroom apartment which was fantastic considering that we had a third guest staying with us. This was pretty much required as we pulled out the fold-out matress to test it and it was completely broken. Bad things: on our first night we were woken up about 4 times with a neighbour's smoke alarm going off, followed by loud rowdy voices and bangings coming from the hallway. It turns out that the hall adjacent to our room was a bit of a wind tunnel and each time the hall door opened our front door rattled and banged. We fixed this by wedging some placemats in the door frame. On our second night, there was a gang outside our window (as we were on the ground floor) who were fighting and throwing things because they weren't allowed inside the apartments. Also, the toilet didn't flush properly, it retained the paper and was very weak. Reception were there 24/7, and the free wifi was only available in the reception area. I wouldn't recommend this place for a family or couple, mainly because of the 'party' atmosphere with parties continuing all night. I would recommend it for travelling friends who would definitely enjoy the environment.
“No Frills but Practical”
"Cell Block C" - characterised our first impression of the St Augustine Apartments. Our first apartment had water all over the bathroom floor from a leaking toilet. Our second had problems with hot water - boosting it manually and waiting 30 minutes produced enough hot water for three 2 minute showers. Positives - well appointed apartments with good amenities for longer term stays. The position was great - walking distance to many attractions, including Temple Bar and the city centre. Security was paramount however the concrete courtyard you had to walk through did not feel safe at night. I would recommend this accommodation for those who prefer practical not pampered, location not luxury and convenience rather than courtesy.
“Great Locations and No Problems”
We had a family of four with two adults and two children (5 and 7). We stayed two nights in a two bedroom apartment. We took the Airlink No. 748 bus from the airport. Bargain price and easy to use. The driver was very friendly and helpful. It was a very short (2-3 block) and easy walk from the stop to the hotel. We stored our bags and then paid a little extra to check-in early. They even personally walked us to our room, using a short-cut through the parking garage so that it was be easier to get to the room with our roller bags. We had no problem navigating the hotel grounds. Its well-marked and the signage was clear. Yes, we went in and out of several doors, but there was no problem, and everything was safe and secure. Check-in was no problem. The room was great. Lots of room. In addition to the two bedrooms, we had a living room, kitchen, bath, and balcony. It was very comfortable. We had no problems with the plumbing. We had read a lot about the plumbing. We had plenty of hot water for showers. The toilet does take 2-4 flushes to fully remove waste, but it eventually works. The neighborhood is great and is a convenient walk to everything. We walked to the Guinness Brewery, Trinity College, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, the train station for a short day-trip to Malahide, and number of other sites. This location is super convenient. All of the sites, pubs, and restaurants are a close walk. We really enjoyed our stay, especially at the bargain price.
“Fantastic Apartments close to everything.”
Staying in the Medieval part of Dublin was really a treat! The front desk staff at St. Augustine were very helpful, especially Stacy and Justin. The apartment, we rented a 2-bed, was very comfortable and had everything stocked for 6 people. It was super to be able to use a dish washer and washer/dryer in the apartment. It was very quiet so we were able to catch up on sleep and had a very restful 2-week stay. There was also a mini-market and LIDL supermarket within walking distance of the apartment. All the tourist attractions in town were a short walk away as were buses and trams. I would definitely stay at St. Augustine again.
