“A beautiful Victorian stay at a reasonable price”
This hotel is fantastic. It offers the old world charm of a Victorian age, with the modern and upgraded flair. You get the best of both worlds. Very quiet and elegant breakfast room with fabulous food and service. Evenings are quiet and you're just 5 minutes walk from pubs, restaurants, convenience stores and the American Embassy. Very upscale area. It's literally 2 minutes walk to the best transportation in Dublin - The Dart. Hop on and you're in city centre in 4-5 minutes. Comfortable safe and clean. We were treated like Royalty and I can't say enough good things about the "best little hotel in Dublin".
“atlanta to dublin”
The Ariel Guesthouse was the PERFECT place to stay in Dublin! We were a 30 minute walk or a 10 Euro cab ride away from city center, or there is the DART line right there. The neighborhood is charming--looks a LOT like Boston does and gives the feel of being very residential. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are very cozy, and the showers are hot! The service equal to any 5 star hotel that I have ever stayed in, and the concierge service is incredible! I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would certainly stay there again myself the next time I am in Dublin!
“EXCELLENT! Didn't want to leave!”
The hostesses and cleaning people were so friendly and the accomodations were very clean and comfortable! They made us feel cared for and right at home. The afternoon tea in the drawing room was outstanding the breakfast was delicious! Also, we got to our hotel early after 24 hours of flights and layovers and they checked us in early and brought tea and coffee and scones and muffins to our room, as we hadn't eaten since the night before. Thank you, Ariel House, for making our stay in Ireland so comfortable and enjoyable!!
“Very, very happy with this address”
We really enjoyed our stay at Ariel House. Nothing was a problem for the staff. We were able to book in early so that we could return our car to the Airport. We got excellent directions from the staff. Very handy to the city as the Dart is only a short distance away. Breakfast was very good - we had to pay for this extra as it was not included it the tariff (we already knew this). Good quality accomodation. Sports arena very close so should consider noise if staying when something is planned. Very enjoyable stay.
“Disappointed”
Booked a 'Superior Room' with an Expedia special rate. We were given a room in the back of the hotel, down a flight of stairs. The hallways and room were in poor condition. The walls were scratched and stained, the ceilings were low and the room was dark. The sink was dirty and the carpets were stained. Asked for a new room. We were given a room on an upper floor but the walls were still stained and the window was very dirty and had cobwebs. The ceilings were taller though. Overall, the rooms are certainly not terrible and have potential, but I was disappointed the rooms did not match the gorgeous pictures on the website. The outside and front rooms are quite nice but the rooms and hallways seemed run down. Maybe a different room would have been better. Staff seemed surprised we were not happy with the rooms.
“Dublin's comfort place”
Nice and quite, old fashioned.
“Off the grid...”
A lot of people consider this hotel to be "way out there" in regards to distance from the city centre. Honestly, it's a 23 min walk to St. Stephen's Green, less than 10 min DART ride to Connolly Station. There you can connect to almost anywhere in Dublin; including Belfast and Galway. Extremely quiet hotel and neighborhood. But, 10 min walk from Merron Road pubs where you can join the rowdy crowds durin rugby and futbol matches. Also 10 mins walk from a 24 hour Spar and eateries. The hotel is beautiful inside, clean, and more importantly...homey. If your home was an intimate Georgian, I wish. Delicious breakfast downstairs; cereals, brown bread, scones, Irish breakfast, eggs, bacon for 11 euros. The description said there were shared bathrooms, but I had a private bathroom. Clean, no mold, no smells. There was a television in my room! Look, just stay here. You won't regret it. The clerks are lovely, like everyone in Dublin.
“Lovely stay in Dublin”
It was our first visit to Dublin and I wanted a quality guest house that was not in the city centre but via public transport is convenient to it. Ariel House fit the bill exactly. It is in a lovely neighborhood and the the staff were nice and helpful. It was very pleasant to sit in the living room, read the papers and have something to drink. We liked the little touches, particularly the towel warmer in the bathroom. One thing I would caution is the potential noise disturbance from the nearby stadium which was getting ready for the Heineken Cup semi-final game the day we left. Since there were no games during our stay, we did not experience crowd problems.
“Very charming place...”
The Ariel House is a very charming place to stay in close proximity to central Dublin with very good bus and DART transportation nearby. The neighborhood is very safe and pretty with many good places to eat. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy with good outdoor light and airy. I would recommend this place to anybody, especially because it is a great deal.
“Great Location for the Aviva Stadium”
My son and I stayed two nights to watch Leicester Tigers get knocked out of the Heineken Cup by Leinster. Apart from the result we had a really good stay at the B&B. Only a few hundred metres from the stadium and the DART train back into Dublin. Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Only gripe was the shower which was underpowered. Dublin very friendly but seriously expensive compared to the Midlands. 4.50 Euros for a beer. 5 at pub on matchday. Food also expensive but it is a capital city so you expect these things. Would use again but hopefully next year we will get a home fixture and the locals can experience the delights of Leicester!!
