“Not impressive.”
The staff and the service was bad. Their English, in comparison to the majority in the Dubai area, was horrible. But, the worst part was when/if they didn't understand, they'd pretend that they did and screw things up for ya. The only wifi they have is in the lobby, and it's not free; another huge downer for me. I ordered Indian food, via room service, and decided to cancel it a couple of minutes later. I was forced to talk to the manager 'cause once you place the order, it cannot be reversed. Now THAT is low and pitiful in my book. I had a few not so pleasant experiences with the staff like these. Overall, the hotel itself is not so bad for the price but if you want some quality service, forget about it. THE SERVICE HERE SUCKS!!!
“Excellent location and amenities”
Excellent amenities and location
“Value for money”
It's close to the mall of the Emirates. Good facilities, but relatively old in design.
“Practical & Convenient”
Every thing was very convenient and very friendly, all the hotel facilities are in good shape, and the whole team is there for your comfort, also the hotel offers complimentary shuttle bus to Dubai Mall and MOE 3 times a day, there were only one negative comment, if someone whispered in the corridor you would hear him while in your bed and by default vice versa !!!
“The hotel is awesome. I did not expect to stay in such a hotel . Highly recommended”
The hotel is very good and not that expensive the location is convenient it is on the main st in Dubai
“One of the affordable hotels in Dubai”
Hi, I liked the fact the Hotel was strategically positioned to my needs. I dint like the view of my room.... Privacy was at a very low... Service was good... Facilities like DVD players, etc were provided on request for free... Overall is was a good stay...
“Nice place to stay”
I personally liked the place with nice employees to take care. Few small issues if that can be taken care it is an excellent place to be in there. If the breakfast is included in the room rate...its pretty expensive according to U.S. standards. See I had to extend it for a day and I had to pay the rack rate and they did not accept the Expedia charges. So you all should have some arrangements like that so that the guests have some flexibility to make changes with the same rate. You can also have some arrangements to have city tour program...and if u all have it then its great and I missed it. Over all it is a nice place to be in. Thank you. P.S. I saw one cockroach in my room...if that can be intimated to them so that they can fumigate that room...
“Not Impressed”
The positives are that the hotel has a nice pool area and a selection of restaurants. I was disappointed with the service. For example, we were told that there was a complimentary shuttle to the airport. Then we were told that it would be a certain price per room. Then we tried to schedule our departure and were told that if we didn't leave at the top of the hour it would be almost double that price per room for a private trip. The staff did not offer information and they were very misleading. We got on the shuttle to the Mall of the Emirates and after it stopped at 6 other hotels and we had been on it for 45 minutes we got off at one of the stops and paid for a taxi ride. The mall was only 5-10 minutes down the road and the shuttle would have taken at least 1 hour. We waited for one of the on sight restaurants to open after staff told us they would open in a 1/2 hour. Once open we found out they were remodeling the kitchen and were only open for drinks. The flow of information was very frustrating and for the money there are much nicer places in Dubai. The hotel is old (built in 1979) and it is clean but in much need of upgrades.
“Amenities make the difference”
The Metropolitan Hotel is nothing special, having said that, the salon, Chinese Restaurant, pool facilities, and British pub make all the difference. We would definately stay here again and enjoy a pint in the pub garden. Don't mind that the hotel could use a lick of paint, it was clean and friendly. Do spend more on your room, the 'atrium view' isn't great, go for the 'garden view'.
“Amusing nightlife !!”
Was convenient and comfortable , interesting and vibrant nightlife going on at the back of the hotel , as well as dining area , cocktails and eclectic range of people
