Truly a luxury experience with champagne welcome, three course breakfasts, real fires in the rooms and staff, at all levels, who were welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend this accommodation - beautiful rooms in a beautiful setting which was enhanced by the service provided by the staff through the car being washed in the morning, fires being lit in your room in the evening to the outstanding food and willingness by the staff to make your holiday a wonderful experience.
Beautifully situated hotel, it would have helped if they had alerted visitors to the closure of the road from Swellendam! The piped music in the restaurant was somewhat irritating particularly the breakfast selection. The staff were friendly but the service at dinner was extremely slow. We felt that there was nobody there with enough presence to be alert to enough to see when things were going wrong.

We were given a fabulous welcome by Mike and a fantastic room. Had originally only booked for a one night stopover but stayed an extra night as it was such a lovely house and place in Montagu. Mike gave us really good suggestions on where to eat and his wife May was so nice and welcoming. Wonderful people - wonderful place to stay. Will certainly go there again when we next visit SA and would recommend to everyone.
