“Dresden's best hotel”
This is the second time I have stayed at the Taschenbergpalais and it has that effortlessly smooth service which only truly great hotels possess. The rooms are extremely comfortable, invisibly serviced and turned down for the night. The breakfast buffet everything one expects] and more, in Germany. The pool on the top floor is beautifully maintained and very relaxing, especially if you are lucky enough to be the only one in. The bar can now mix proper American cocktails - not the case three years ago. The concierge service is outstanding, even returning our rented car for us as we were in a rush to get to the opera. Only one tiny hiccup - service in smart Intermezzo restaurant extremely slow on first night - and the busy-ness of the kitchen not really good enough as an excuse - but to compensate, extremely good and charming on other nights in the Bistro (serviced by same kitchen). Finally a general gripe, surely there should be free access to WiFi in one's room by now, as in all the other hotels I've stayed in recently? It isn't worth irritating guests with such a small meanness, when everything else about the hotel is of such a superlative standard.
“Dresden”
Pro: The room is modern and very nice looking, staff was friendly and helpul at any given time Cons: infrastructure is terrible, eg 2h internet €12. The tv and matrasse must have been from the before era. The bed must have been used by late starke alexander, the tv (i expected flatscreen) must have been a tube tv and small like a 15" monitor. I will not return Advise: should you still want to there, do NOT accept room on the 4th floor...trust me
“Best hotel we`ve stayed in.”
This hotel, and city, were recommended by friends and we can only agree whole heartedly with them. The hotel is situated in the centre of the city but is quiet at night and within a few minutes walk of the Theatre, Opera House and Orchestral Concerts featuring the Dresden Philharmonic. The Zwinger, the main Art Gallery, is just across the road. The hotel staff were polite and efficient without being obtrusive. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The beds were comfortable and an extra pillow supplied immediately. A weather forecast was left on the bed each evening, a nice touch. We twice ate in the Pallsinger Bar and had excellent food, reasonably priced. Breakfast was a superb selection of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, breads and a selection of cooked foods, bacon, sausage etc. We intend returning!
“Dresden's top tourist hotel”
See impressions above. The Taschenberg Kempinski is one of the top hotels in Dresden. It has history, it is elegant and it is right next door to the major tourist attractions such as the Zwinger, the Stadtschloss with all its various excellent museums, most of which are free with the Dresden Card , which you can buy at the airport. The staff are friendly and helpful. One gripe, the buffet breakfast costs extra 26 Euro, currently. With a warning about that I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting proximity to the historic sites.
“Great location in heart of Dresden”
Hotel was the best location to see the historic area of Dresden. The one negative was that we weren't traveling with our own computer, and we used the lobby's internet service which charged in 4 minute, 10 minute, 1 hr. increments. We thought that should be part of our hotel charge. There was only one computer available also.
“Great hotel”
Great staff, great service, great location - truly a great experience.
“Great hotel- rude employees”
The hotel was amazing- right in the middle of historic Dresden. Our room was large, clean and modern. confortable bed and great ventilation/AC. The whole hotel was neat to walk around- the pool area looks just like the pictures. My only complaint would be the front desk staff- they had a "holier- than0 though" attitude. OH well- try to not let that spoil this great hotel.
“The only place to stay in Dresden!”
I have been to Dresden several times over the past 16 years, and the city has been transformed. I have stayed in several hotels, including the Taschenberg several times, and again and again it is THE place to stay in Dresden - central and of excellent quality. I have only two commments: one is that the new matresses are not to my personal liking, and that second, the hotel health spa is a little small and does not for example have a steam room. However, if you can live without these things, the hotel is still the best in town.
Beste Lage ! Man benötigt kein Auto oder ÖPV.
