“Excellent Choice”

My first time at this hotel but it turned out to be the perfect choice. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. My room although small was perfectly adequate and value for money. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Dinner was across the road in their own restaurant. Again very friendly and helpful staff. A popular restaurant with nice atmosphere, good food and sevice. In all an excellent choice.

Area recommendations
Certainly this area was good. It was quiet but close enough to the centre. Taxis were easy to get through the hotel or you could walk 5 minutes to the end of the road and take a tram.

“Czech Jewel in Dresden”

The Hotel Smetana was a most pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful and friendly, welcomed me with a glass of wine and supplied me with a map of Dresden. The front desk sells tickets for the streetcar that leaves from the Pohland Platz on the Schandauer Strasse, a short 10-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a ticket machine where the trams stop. The hotel itself is tastefully furnished in the Jugendstil and the room was large, comfortable, with a desk, a minibar with reasonable prices, a 19" color TV, and a good-sized bathroom with two-toned grey tile, a large wash basin, hairdryer and shower. The buffet breakfast costs 9 euros, but is well worth the money as the choices range from hot food (different kinds of eggs and sausage or bacon) to fresh bread, cold cuts, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The personnel in the breakfast room were very welcoming and provided excellent service. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. The same applies to the Golden Prague restaurant across the street which provides Czech and international dishes.

Area recommendations
The rebuilt downtown area is a must-see. This includes the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger for older European Art, the Schloss, Kreuzkirche, Semper Opera House. A 1.5 trip on the Elbe will take you past vineyards and an older Slavic settlement in Blasewitz.

“hotel ok, quartiere con zero vita notturna”

Ho visitato Dresda un giorno solo arrivando la sera prima e aprtendo prima di cena.. Hotel Ok, però non ho usufruito della colazione e della sauna, di questi non so dire. Il quartiere è residenziale e gradevole ma di sera non c'è nulla. Se si vuole vivere Dresda di sera (che non conosco) non è adatto. Per il giorno è comunque ben collegato al centro. Hotel carino ma piccolo. Camera semplice e non enorme ma soddisfacente. Gentilissimi.

“Prima hotel buiten het centrum van Dresden”

Rustige omgeving en met de auto in 15 min. in het centrum met voldoende parkeergelegenheid

“Ideal für Kurzaufenthalt”

Nettes kleines Hotel in Citynähe. Sehr freundliches Personal! Hatte leider nur wenig Zeit in Dresden, würde das Hotel beim nächsten Aufenthalt wieder buchen.

“Sahnehäubchen”

Unser wunderbarer Urlaub in Dresden wurde durch das Hotel Smetana gekrönt - also das Sahnehäubchen. Das Personal war äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Zimmer sauber und freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie einfach fantastisch. Wir können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen.

“Ervaringen met Hotel Smetana”

Tijdens een 4-daags verblijf in Dresden overnacht bij Hotel Smetana. Klein hotel, wat ver buiten het centrum gelegen. Zeer gastvrij en klantgericht. Bij terugkeer na een stadsbezoek werd glas wijn aangeboden of koffie met cake. EDrg schoon en goed verzorgd. Prima ervaring.

Cedntrum. Openbaar vervoer is uitstekend geregeld in Dresden.

“In ruhiger Lage und auch noch spät in der Nacht mit öffentlichen Mittel gut erreichbar”

Wir kamen am spaäten Nachmittag im Hotel und wurden herzlich & ohne weitere Probleme empfangen. Außerdem gab es noch ein kleines Kaffee und Kuchen-Buffet aufs Haus. Unser Zimmer war geräumig mit großen Schrank, Sofa und MInibar. Außerdem ließen sich die Fenster sehr gut verdunkeln, was besonders im Sommer von großen Vorteil ist. Das Frühstücksangebot ist sehr reichhaltig mit einem exelenten Service (freundliche, zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter) und ist definitiv seine 9€ wert.

In jeder Richtung von dort aus ist etwas...
Getting around
Am besten mit Straßenbahn. Das Tagesticket kostet 5€, ab 2 Personen ist das Familienticket für 7 € zu empfehlen. Damit kommt man wirklich überall hin und hat außerdem ermäßige Preise bei den Seilbahnen in Dresden-Loschwitz (sehr interessant)
Shopping
Am besten bis zur Prager Stasse, Altmarkt oder Hbf fahren. Diese 3 Statioen bilden eine wahre "Shopping-Achse" (Altmarktgalerie etc.)
Dining
sehr zu empfehlen ist das Il Camino in Dresden-Loschwitz unterhalb vom blauen Wunder (zu erreichen indem man bis Körnerplatz fährt und dann einfach zum Elbufer runter läuft. Es ist mit einen rustikalen Garten ausgestattet. es hat zwar etwas höhere Preise, aber die Speisen sind wunderbar frisch und wahrlich italienisch. Kleiner Tip: Nich t von den manchmal etwas muffeligen Italiener dort abschrecken lassen. Sie sind eigentlich sehr freundlich.
