“DRESDEN EXCELLENT HOTEL”

Excellent location for all of Dresden tourist highlights. Restaurants and other amenities within easy access of the hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Executive lounge a real bonus, if you are lucky to be allocated one of these rooms I would recommend that you make use of this facility. Although the decor of the room would not be classed as executive. Beds rather hard and lack of free internet access was disappointing.

Area recommendations

Certainly choose the 'hop on hop off bus' to give you a idea of what is available in the area. Make sure you take advantage of purchasing the ticket at 4.00 pm and you can use the ticket for the rest of that day and the subsequent day. Should you wish to go further afield try using the very efficient train service and visit the area of Meissen. Again check with the train station as they have deals for small groups of people travelling together.

Dining

Take care with dining it can be expensive around the hotel, best to choose restaurants off the side streets.

“Expensive Internet”

Hilton's internet provider, Swisscom, charges an outrageous €22/day for high speed internet service. Even in Europe more and more hotels are providing internet at no charge. Surely Hilton can do better than this!

“Good hotel, Great location”

The hotel is located in the center of the old town, a great location for tourists. The hotel is a nice modern hotel with friendly staff, as can be expected froma hotel at this level.

“Great location, friendly people”

All in all this is a great spot. Decent price and probably the best location in all of Dresden (old town). The Xmas market is literally steps from your door. Great buffet breakfast and rooms. Only minor drawback (for a North American) was that there was no convenience store in the near vicinity, to pick up those necessary things one forgets...overall A+

“executive perks”

stayed in an executive room with excellent complimentary breakfast in separate lounge which led to a relaxed pleasant ambiance.complementary food and drink in the evening was good quality and very civilised meaning the overall room rate was good value.would recommend this over the standard room rate especially as the hotel is large and could feel impersonal whereas on the executive floor it was very welcoming and friendly.

Area recommendations

if you have the time use the excellent local train service to Saxony Swiss,to Meissan or to Bauzen all excellent contrasts to Dresden.

“All in one in the great location”

It was a shame that I could not check-in earlier than 14:00, but it was a busy weekend, and I should not complain. Friendly staff and high-standard facility was just comfortable and made me feel at home. Various shops and restaurants were also good fun.

“A great time in Dresden”

We had a fabulous room overlooking the Elbe river. The room was clean and decorated in a modern style. It was comfortable and a great value for the money.

Area recommendations

The old part of the city is very charming and worth seeing.
