“back home now”
as others have stated, it is about 30 minutes for the Altstadt by foot, or quicker by train. I heard very little street noise even though my room faced the street. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. The only word of caution I would offer is that if you are not one to eat a big breakfast, you would likely be better off having breakfast elsewhere, as they charge you a healthy rate for breakfast. Lots of food selection available though if you chose to have breakfast there.
“Very good value for money for a budget hotel.”
Staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful at all times. Breakfasts were the best I have had out of my 3 hotels this trip. There is only one slight problem at the moment - and this will last through to October: the tramline which runs along to the hotel is being renovated and it means that for visits to the city centre, hotel guests will either have make a 10-minute walk for the nos 7 and 8 trams.
“Good place, worth the money”
Not in the very centre but with easy access to the centre by reliable public transport - 15-15 minutes. Surroundings not very welcoming but the place looks and feels safe. No hotel parking but one can park free in the street in front of the hotel. VERY GOOD BREAKFAST - EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD FOR GERMANY. Hotel a little bit run down - needs renovation. Rooms nice, no very big but comfortable and clean. Air conditioning did not work and the hotel was unable to fix it for our whole stay. It was nat a problem as it was not hot but can be a problem with hot weather.
“Good, cozy hotel not far from the center”
This is a good hotel with an excellent breakfast and very courteous staff. Not far (within walking distance) from major arteries to the city. The neighborhood is somewhat run-down but that is ok. The rooms were very nice and spacious - not a pretentious place and very affordable.
“Decent Hotel, not very close to much.”
This hotel was decent. It was clean, the ladies at the front desk spoke pretty good English, and it was definitely functional. However, the breakfast was too expensive, but the area that the hotel is in, nothing is closer than a 15 minute walk, so it seemed like there was no other option. The tram system in town is great, if you know enough about the language to use it. However, if you don't, then you're probably stuck walking. Its about a 15/20 minute walk from the Neustadt train station, so if the weather is good and your bags aren't too heavy, not too bad, but not too great either. It seemed like it was a 15/20 minute walk from everything - and 30 min walk to Old town, where all of the historic sites are. I'd say spend a little more and stay closer to old town, if you're looking for history!
“Not bad”
Hotel is out of the way, if you are looking to go downtown all the time.. It is about an hour walk. The Ubahn (Street car) stops 50 meters away, so its not that big of a deal. Internet was not free. But, it was clean, staff was nice. Not allot of ammenities though. If you are the type that stays in the hotel to sleep, and shower and dont care about the internet, if it has a pool or a gym, then it is great.
“Amongst the best.”
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the reception staff our stay at this hotel was excellent. Reception could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our room was large with opening windows. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean throughout our stay. The breakfast was well worth the price with an excellent choice and attentive staff. The bar in the cellar was well stocked, the only drawback being the lack of a restaurant for evening meals when it rained hard.
“Rainy in Dresden”
The hotel was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The hotel was in an very nice old building, which was much nicer than some of the modern hotels and the room was actually rather large. Had a great view of a nearby church that made for great photos at sunset. Not far from the city center, close to a tram stop, and within a few blocks of a grocery store. great overall.
“HOTEL IN NEW DRESDEN”
We spent one night there. The hotel is about 20-30 minutes walking distance from the Old Town. Free parking and breakfast not included, no coffee make in the room. It was quiet in the room at night. Very nice chineese place 2 minutes from the hotel.
“Quiet & friendly base in Dresden”
Freshly decorated and with further refurbishment of the entrance area in hand, this hotel is a welcoming place for a business or vacation visit to Dresden. Although about 30 minutes on foot from the city centre, it is easy to access either the city or the airport. Very good breakfast facilities and a pleasant bar start and end each day there!
