Building with character

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: Old style furnishings that nevertheless were very comfortable.
Location: Easy walk to the main federal buildings. On a busy junction, but I was not troubled by traffic noise.
I enjoyed a very pleasant three night stay mixing business meetings with some sightseeing. The staff were very cheerful and helpful and I had all the facilities I needed.

Excellent, accommodating staff

Posted 28-Mar-2015
Pros: Staff are the highest quality.
Cons: Needed window shades or better covering over windows in the sleeping room. Would have rated the hotel higher if this was provided.
Location: White House is within walking distance, many good restaurants nearby. Very close to downtown area.
I selected this hotel primarily due to its location, and expected it to be a fairly run-down hotel due to its age. I was definitely surprised however. The hotel is older, but has been well maintained. My room was small, strange shaped, but comfortable. I think this is a European style room. At any rate, I was very pleased with the staff, at all levels. They were eager to please and were always available to address any of my needs. I will stay here again!

Nice hotel

Posted 25-Mar-2015
The hotel is in very good location, walking distance to White House. The public transportation is very close also, so me and my 8 year old daughter had no problem to get in places. The staff was very helpfull with directions and recommendations for places to eat and see. Room was very clean and quiet. We are use to bigger hotel rooms, but had no problem with this smaller one. We like the free wifi. The complimentary breakfast had smaller selection than we are use to, but there was planty to eat and choose from. Overall our stay was plesant and I will definitely choose this hotel to stay next time.

Overnight weekend stay

Posted 09-Mar-2015
My wife and I live about 75 miles from Washington, DC. When we lived closer to Washington, we had driven past the Morrison-Clark many times and often thought we'd like to stay there based on its outside architecture. The opportunity presented itself over the weekend, as we had two performances to attend at the Kennedy Center on March 7-8 and, rather than go home on Saturday night and return again the next afternoon, we opted to lodge overnight in the city. The room was spacious and clean and, unlike a recent previous experience at a different DC hotel, comfortable with respect to the temperature. The staff couldn't have been more professional. The only down side is that the Morrison-Clark isn't really within walking distance of any of the major attractions in DC, and the nearest Metro station is a decent walk (about a half mile), so driving and/or taxis would probably be required to get around the city. With that said, it's a fine establishment and one which we would certainly visit again.

Great place to stay

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Pros: Everything was in excellent condition and clean.
Cons: Check in could have been faster, without the wait.. but that was ok.
Location: Verizon center, plenty to do.
What an awesome room. Although I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to make sure the room was ready, it was well worth it. Very clean and impressive maintenance condition for such an old place.

Nice hotel close to family and great restaurants

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: Appreciated the fresh bottle of water. I love the charm & architecture of older buildings and appreciate knowing the history of the building and area.
Location: Convenient to convention center, other hotels, great food and shopping.
Great value - very convenient to family, shopping and great food options. Only inconvenience was noise and "detours" due to construction and lack of full handicap accommodations. Prefer cut fruit for continental breakfast.

Great for Convention Center Business

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: The bed was fantastic.
Cons: Better signage on L street while the front entrance is under construction.
Location: Super close to the convention center.
This hotel was very convenient to the convention center. The room was small, but the bed was incredible. Breakfast was ok, but the coffee was very good.

Great location, excellent staff, nicely appointed room. Breakfast was served in beautiful room with 2 fireplaces, just off the main lobby. Room small but very comfortable.
