Loved it!! Everything was great! It was our first time visiting San Francisco, so we decided to stay right in the middle of everything. After discovering all these new places, we realized we really enjoyed being by fishermans wharf. Hotel was great though!! Very friendly staff. We got a 1 bedroom suite upgrade simply bc we asked and there's was one available! Will def be back!!!
I want my own hotel some day, I'm a Chef in the business, I have had the privilege of traveling all over the world and stayed at some of the best! I was alone in San Francisco at the end of a fantastic holiday with my friends on the beautiful west coast, and I have to say the W hotel was by far the best stop on my journey. I'm taking decorating tips from the beautiful room. I had a great day on the piers and a fantastic facial at the hotel. To top it all off I had the ultimate Californian experience with an earth quake at 3am in the morning! Great people beautiful hotel, I stayed at the Palace the night before, it reminded me of " the shining" no mini bar unless you are in a suite! hate that... went down to the bar for the signature cocktail it was terrible and the staff treated me like a shoplifting teenager.
So I'm going to be in New York on the 5th to the 11th of January, couldn't convince my friend to spend the little bit more to stay with you, but I will try and make it a spot to stop by and enjoy the Bliss Spa.
Thank you, Lisa McCullough.
This hotel was a breath of fresh air and in the perfect place in the city. Great coffee shop right across the street (visited both days) amazingly friendly staff, clean and cute rooms, attentive and kind valet. Wonderful! Perfect place for two girls in the city, will stay again!
I don't normally leave five star reviews because they tend to be overlooked by sensible people as propaganda written by the hotel itself. However in this case I feel it is deserving.
For the price, you would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay with a staff that is friendly and accepting, free parking on the street, updated rooms and within a block of Folsom Street Fair. While other nearby hotels chose to gouge fair-goers to the tune of almost EIGHT times their normal rate, this place stayed classy and remained very close to their normal rates.
Pros: Great room (I had a corner room) with microwave and empty fridge, great bathroom, comfortable bed, nice view, parking on the street is free overnight if you get it early. Flat screen TV in my room.
Cons: No off-street parking. Honestly that's the only thing I could think of. Oh, and the remodel of the front lobby is not as warm and inviting as the old pictures. Still nice though. The satellite TV was a bit strange, seemed to have maybe 30 channels that repeated over and over up to channel 9999. Remote was not very responsive. Now I'm just nitpicking.
Overall a great hotel if you need a place to stay for FSF. They allow checking in around 1-2pm and checking out around noon at the latest. I will be staying again!
Great room! Very clean and tidy. Built for two. Bed was a bit hard but everything else outweighed that. Convenient location. Across from parking structure. The Staff was great. The old style atmosphere was reminiscent of an era gone by. The Bar & Grill adjacent the lobby was excellent:opens at 6 a.m. closes late. I have stayed in other Hotels in San Francisco for more and got less for the price. I'll stick with Pickwick from now on!
First time at the Palomar and we would definitely come back. The room was spacious (two queen beds) and very clean. Nice decor and fully set up with extras, like shampoo, hair dryer and robes in the closet. We were on the 8th floor and had no issues with noise. Close to shopping, Starbucks, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. Parked the car and walked or taxied everywhere. We didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant/bar, but it looked great. Overall, a great experience.
