If you're looking for a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you. This is a cozy and quaint hotel in the middle of the down town Puerto Vallarta. Location is just a block off the malecon. Great food north or south. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean. Rooms looked same as pics online. I can say the towels and bed sheets were stained but they were not dirty smelling. Air conditioning worked wonderfully. We were very pleased with our three night stay. It was a little weird that in the stair well they kept extra mattresses, but we figured they set up second beds in single bedroom rooms with these mattresses. We had a double queen room and this is what they did for our room. Re arranged the furniture to fit in two queen beds. It was a tight squeeze but we didn't go to Puerto Vallarta to sit around in our hotel room. It served it's purpose. The pool was clean and refreshing. The restaurant was not good, only ate there once and will review separately. Wifi was iffy... in and out but was free. No complaints overall. Friendly staff and we had nothing stolen.
Everything about this hotel is beautiful: the rooms, the view, the decor, the art. The pool is especially wonderful and may possibly be the highlight. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One piece of advice though, call ahead and let them know if you need to arrive late.
This is not the first time we stayed at the Rosita. I don't think you will find a more family friendly place to stay. The staff is top notch. Everyone goes out of there way to make your stay a great one. I have been going to mexico for over 20 years and this is by far my favorite place to stay.
"Comfortable place to stay for independent traveler"
This hotel has an excellent view of central Puerto Vallarta (steeple of the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with ringing bells), the hilltops, and the ocean (Malecon boardwalk) all from the 4th floor balcony that surrounds the breakfast room. The sandy, swimmable part of the beach (Playa de los Muertos) can be reached in about 10 minutes. I was glad that this place is very comfortable and modern, and NOT one of those resort places where American tourists with all-inclusive deals come to be led around and pampered. Everything a traveler would need can be found nearby just by looking around.
We enjoy being near the downtown area and if you speak a little Spanish and are tired of the resort's it is a great place to be . There are numerous fair to excellent restaurants within walking distance and near a nice beach
The location of this hotel is one it's most Charming features,The view was wonderful.we stayed in room 40.it had a double sliding glass door's that opened to an ocean/city view.it also over looked the pool.we had a small kitchen with all the amenities.the maid service was excellent.the desk was very helpful. The only "small complaints" the wi-fi was only available in the lobby.and the room really could have used air conditioning.(it did have a large ceiling fan over the bed) and the front desk asked if we would like a fan.and brought it to us.(great service in my opinion)
Pocket Guide: Puerto Vallarta Downtown Puerto Vallarta Hotels
Downtown’s cobblestone streets lead to historic landmarks, such as La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. A crown tops this church’s bell tower, a lasting reminder of the short-lived Mexican monarchy. By the water, Triton dons a sombrero atop a seahorse. Downtown is also known for art galleries, Museo Arqueológico, and Casa Kimberly, once a love nest for Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
