Iconic hotel which is very close to transport (DART Union Station) - very handy in the hot & humid Dallas summer weather. The hotel shop provides a large selection of inexpensive things to eat and drink in your room or elsewhere. Close to Dallas Convention Centre and Union Station. Dallas City Tours are very knowledgeable and only ten minutes by DART from the excellent Dallas Zoo. Enjoyed a free trolley ride on M-Line up McKinney Avenue and back.
"Great hotel w/onsite restaurants, great pool area!"
Great location in Dallas downtown area. Love the modern amenities. Pool area is great. I come here twice a year. The Sports bar and Top rated restaurant on site is very convenient. Love the walkway to the convention center for business and trade shows.

I stayed at Nylo because of the proximity to one of our offices. It's a really cool building and I love the decor and "loft-living" style. The rooftop bar has amazing views and is open-air. I stayed in a loft room and it was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The bed and pillows were great too. The street noise is a problem - the windows are very thin. Ask for a room away from a busy street if you can. Where this hotel falls very short is service. Upon check-in, I was asked for a card for incidentals, which is standard. However, she swiped my card, THEN handed me a form to initial agreeing to a large per day hold on the card. When I mentioned that she should have informed me of this before swiping my card, she said "whatever". I was also not told that you have to insert the key card in a slot by the door in order to operate the lights. When I called to ask, the same person said "it's not hard to figure out". Cleaning service needs to be improved - the in-room coffee mugs were filthy, my feet were black from walking barefoot in the room and 2 of my towels had old makeup stains and one of them was ripped. Breakfast was mediocre both days I ate there. They don't have nearly enough help, service was slow and I ordered the granola that was supposed to come with a mix of berries and it was served missing strawberries. When I asked, the waiter said they were out. He didn't offer to substitute anything else either. Breakfast the 2nd day took over an hour to serve. Needs work!
"Clean, comfortable, and close to my destination!"
Front desk staff was courteous & helpful, service in the kitchen/bar at 10pm was speedy & polite, room was clean and unique. Some renovations in progress as evidenced by a funky smell & "wet paint" signs in the halls, but did not detract from my experience.
Had booked another hotel online, turned out to be in a bad neighborhood, dirty, and had bedbugs! Desperate, my son and I searched our phones and found this place, what a relief! clean, comfortable, and friendly. Had a flat tire the night before Memorial Day, the staff found me an affordable repair shop near by and called to make sure they were open, then gave me detailed directions to the shop. Pleasant breakfast downstairs, server was very nice. My son and I had a great experience.
I was in Dallas for SAS Global Forum conference at the convention center. I was looking for a cheap hotel nearby and I selected this one. I like small vintage style hotel and I did not regret my choice. However, the hotel needs to be refreshed but the owners started to do important renovations when I was there (they were replacing the old elevator, changing the mattresses, fixing rooms, etc.). I hope they will keep the vintage style. The complementary breakfast was good and complete. The location is great (three blocks from the convention center, three blocks from the 6th floor, the JFK and the red museums (including the information center), four blocks from the “old” Dallas and restaurants, five blocks from the train station). There is a restaurant beside the hotel but it was closed for renovation...
Like everything in Texas, downtown Dallas is big. Fortunately, downtown’s zones make it easy to explore. The city’s art museum, symphony, and Dallas World Aquarium reside in the Arts District. West End’s Elm Street marks the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. The Sixth Floor Museum chronicles this dark day. Deep Ellum, east of downtown, is Dallas’ main nightlife hub.
