LOVED MOST OF EXPERIENCE. HAD PROBLEMS WITH HAVING TO GIVE CARD DAILY FOR POSSIBLE 'EXTRA' CHARGES. BOOKED 3 ROOMS / 2 NITES THROUGH 3RD PARTY. BOOKED 3RD NIGHT DIRECT. ASKED FOR ALL 3 ROOMS TO BE LOCATED AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE. REQUESTED VIEW OF ATLANTA--REQUESTED N TOWER. WE WERE ALL BOOKED ON SAME FLOOR OF SOUTH TOWER-THO NOT CLOSE--ONLY ONE ROOM WITH DOWNTOWN VIEW--ONE ROOM HANDICAP THAT WE DID NOT REQUEST.
Great stay. The food was delicious and the restaurants were open pretty late for a Sunday. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and staff was helpful. The only downside is some entrances are closed off due to construction so parking is more frustrating than expected.
Everything was great! Except this was the first time I booked through Expedia. I even called so I could make sure we were on a high floor with a great view and they assured me it would be because I booked a month in advanced and they could request it. When I arrived I was on the 28th floor (out of 73). The view was ok but could have been lots better do to buildings in the way. If you want to book a room on a specific floor (recommend above 45) call the hotel directly. They explained to me that there is no way Expedia can do this so I felt misslead. The hotel was wonderful. The view from the Sundial restaurant on the 73 floor was breath taking. If you are a guest you can go view free of charge even if you aren't eating. The pool was great although there is no hot tub as decribed. Will definitely stay again just will call the hotel directly!
Housekeeping was more than disappointing and left trash in room and didn't do a good job cleaning the bathroom. Plan on raiding the maid's cart for clean towels, because they won't just be there waiting for you, as expected.
Got conflicting information from Concierge services who could have been more helpful, had they known what they were doing. It seemed every question we asked, they had to look up, which is something I could have done on my Smart phone. Seems they should have known more about what the common attractions are within a 2 mile radius of the hotel.
The food was terrific. Loved the variety of the restaurants inside the hotel, and so much more was just steps away outside the hotel. (Although, good luck getting the Concierge to tell you about them!)
Everything was terrific except the only two time I came back to the room to relax and reenergize the TV was not working due to "no signal" from " Dish TV" system. Quite frankly this did spoil my visit to the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.
Though my van was too tall for the self parking, the staff assisted me with options. I arrived early and yet was able to check in. There was a sky-walk to my conference. Every staff member was courteous and attentive to my needs.
The CNN Center and Centennial Olympic Park are the centerpieces of downtown Atlanta. The Georgia World Congress Center, America’s fourth largest convention center, borders the park. Next door, the Georgia Dome is home of the NFL’s Falcons. At Pemberton Place, the World of Coca-Cola allows for a close study of pop culture. Also downtown are the MLB Braves’ Turner Field and the Georgia Aquarium.
