My stay at LaQuinta Inn in Doswell, Va was superb! The room was very clean and fresh smelling, and the room decor and linens were high quality (very pretty). The hotel enforces a non-smoking policy so you don't have to ever worry about smelling lingering cigarette smoke(yuck). I was so comfortable at this hotel that I almost forgot I was away from home. The staff was friendly and accommodating. And I love that they are pet-friendly! This is the third time I have stayed at a LaQuinta Inn, all in different states and the quality and cleanliness was the same in each hotel. Every room was beautiful and I always get a good rate so I leave feeling like I got my moneys worth. From now on this will be my hotel of choice!

“Kings Dominion across the street”

We took a weekend family trip to Kings Dominion (20mi north of Richmond) and booked a Sat night stay at the new Comfort Suites which turned out to be immediately across the street. The deskclerk was wonderfully helpful and allowed us to check-in a bit early (so we could refrigerate our food in the room). We saved $24 in parking fees by walking across the road to the park. The room was very clean, the breakfast spread was excellent, and the staff friendly. After a full day roller coasting til we were silly, the Comfort Suites was just the ticket.

There was a rotten orange at the breakfast bar. That was really gross me out. Aren't they check everything in the beginning?

“Will never return”

Check in was slow and unfriendly. Pool and spa were fiflthy. Front desk was not helpful at all. When I asked about area restaurants, the girl just pointed to a few pizza brochures on a table. I would have overlooked all that if the following had not just happened: Checked out at 11 am this morning and returned home. Someone from the hotel just called me at 10pm to tell me I will be expected to pay for the broken lamp in the room. When I tried to explain we did not break a lamp, he continued to insist that we will be expected to pay for the lamp. He said it was broken, then put in a drawer and I should have told them it was broken when we checked out. (we were only there 2 nites and did not use the drawers). I continued to tell him that we did not break any lamps and he still continued to tell me that I will have to pay for it. When I suggested that it was possible that house keeping or the previous customer might have broken it, he would not even acknowledge the possibility. I guess I will have a fight on my hands, because I refuse to pay for something I did not do. I have never been treated so poorly by hotel personnel. I will not go back.
