“Good price, perfect location, basic but friendly”
We were wary of staying here after seeing a few bad reviews, but it really isn't that bad. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms are comfortable, and the location to central bournemouth and the seafront is perfect. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are basic and the hallways could do with a bit of modernising - but we paid extra for a sea view and it was well worth it. It's not the most hip and happening place, but we were out and about most of the time anyway so only had a couple of drinks in the bar, which was fine. This hotel is part of a chain of three - all next door. The middle hotel was a bit louder - the Cliffeside is the quiet one which suited us fine. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but did eat in the cumberland - the sister hotel two doors down, which was excellent. A good company, a good set of 3 hotels catering for all, and we were happy with our stay.
“Very good for a 3 star hotel”
Single room was compact but comfortable, clean and in good repair, especially the bathroom. Also the room was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful.
“good value stay”
my wife and i was very pleased with our stay , staff seemed very friendly , our only gripe with the room was that it was very hot at times , Our breakfast was also very good , overall it was a good value stay
“Cheap and Cheerful!”
Rooms are basic but the price (room only) was very good. Breakfast was large and tasty but a bit expensive at £10.
“not baby friendly”
althought the staff were helpful enough, they were very slow when you ask them for things, the overall decor of the hotel really needs updated, they have no ramp for prams and the high chair which they gave us at breakfast time was exteremly dirty i could'nt sit our baby in it, i would'nt recommend this hotel if you have babies or toddlers as they also had a live band on the monday night
“Bournemouth - Cliffside Hotel”
Stayed here. Very very small car park - difficult parking during Airshow weekend but staff did their best to help with moving cars around when guests needed to enter/exit car park. However, given rate was London-rates for a double room, the room was totally inadequate. Double bed was not a full double and room size was that of a single. 2 doors down, could have had a larger room for 40% less per night (and at short notice). Seems to me that if you are not worried about room sizes or quality, stay here. If you are, look elsewhere.
“not satisfied”
no frige in the room no jacuzzi, snooker, pool table in the sister hotel lack of maintainance building very old
“Only if you have a dog”
We stayed here as it was the only place in Bournemouth which would allow us to bring our dog. So if you're looking for just that then this place is great. However, the rooms were extremely hot and stuffy without AC an good ventilation. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant which was a huge mistake as everything was horribly prepared. The good news is that the service was very friendly and helpful.
“What a horriable threedays spent.”
On arrival the first room we were shown too had no heating and very cramped. We asked for another room, this was better. Still cold they had problems with the boilers but know one told us untill the day of our depature. On arrival we went to the hotel bar for a snack. No hot food as the chef had deceided to leave for the day. This hotel needs a update it is very tired and chabby.
