“A nice quiet night”
Stayed there with my girlfriend for one Saturday night after a few days holiday in Dorset. I know the hotel having lived in the Bournemouth area in the past. The rooms had nice dark curtains both my girlfriend and I are light sleepers and find thin curtains keep us awake. We didn't have evening meal there but came back later in the eve to meet friends in the bar. Was expecting it might be noisy in the eve but it was nice and quiet once the pub closed. We enjoyed the breakfast on the carriage in the morning
“great weekend”
we were made to feel welcome on arrival, settled into nice clean room with all tea and coffee facilities to use and always replenished daily. The bar served good ale and the restaurant good food.A good choice of breakfasts in the pullman carriage in the morning, all in all a very comfortable weekend and would recommend to all.
“Great Value”
Quirky place, liked that the breakfast was served on an old train carriage (as the hotel was once a railway station). Overall, food was good and staff were very nice, especially the manager. Very good.
“Value for money stay”
we stayed 3 nights in feb 2012. welcomed by member of staff who was working behind bar. cheerfull chap and quite helpfull. Our double room overlooked car park, but not noisey at all. Room was adequote , bed a bit lumpy and shower although hot and powerful needed updating. Nit picking really. Food in resturant excellent and reasonably priced. We would stay here again at the price we paid, and recomend to friends.
“Good location, but needs some improvments”
possablly in need of a little TLC in the bedrooms, silicone sealant around shower base needed replacing and was black in places, matress was very soft on the edges, room was nice and warm ans well decorated. Breakfasrt very good, evening meal in the bar was standard pub food, and the room could have been brighter. Would not be our first choice to return, but would stay there again. Owner told us he had recently taken over and was going to make changes
“Take your earplugs”
