Lovely hotel

Posted 19-Dec-2014
Pros: Breakfast was best we have had. Staff very friendly.
Cons: A little makeover
Location: In winter not a lot nearby
We had everything we could possibly need in this hotel, tiny problem with heating in bathroom as it was winter booking. Great position. Lovely views

School Staff Xmas Party

Posted 14-Dec-2014
We had our event in the Compass suite for £35 pp. Perfect. Beautifully laid out tables, wood burner effect fire centrally in the suite, excellent food and hospitality. We had our own disco and bar. Everybody had a great time. There were 49 of us. A few of us stayed over. Our room was spacious, warm, very clean with en suite, tea/coffee and TV.

Nice hotel in a great location.

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Pros: The hotel's position right next to the sandy beach and adjacent to the prom is it's best asset.
Cons: Sandbanks is in need of redecoration. The staff work hard but seem to struggle with the systems. Difficult to get served. Background music to loud.
Location: Really great location and loads to do nearby. Bournemouth has shopping, shows and a very nice beach. Nice countryside close by.
We enjoyed a really nice weekend at Sandbanks Hotel. With a room that overlooked the sandy beach we couldn't really go wrong though. The restaurant was pleasant and our meal was acceptable. There was a good choice of wines but we found these rather expensive. Weather during the stay was great. The last day of November and we were able to take advantage of the lovely beach side terrace where we had lunch in the sun. This was our first time at this hotel but we could just imagine how fantastic it would be during a spell of fine summer weather. We didn't use the pool or gym but did take a look and will be happy to take a dip on future visits. Breakfast, which was self service, was well prepared, tasty and of good quality. Overall, this hotel was good value for money.

Wonderful hotel situated for the beach and harbour

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Situation right on sandbanks, fantastic views of the sea.
Location: Right on edge of bay, can walk straight out on beach. A short drive to Poole quay or to Bournemouth.
We stayed for a birthday treat, arrived to find room overlooking the bay, everything clean and staff very welcoming. We had a drink in the bar but did not dine as were meeting friends. Breakfast very good with attentive service. Would thoroughly recommend.

Pleasant hotel, excellent location

Posted 28-Nov-2014
Stayed for the weekend of 21st November and thoroughly enjoyed it except for one aspect. On the Friday there was construction noise all through the night for work being carried out to the beach. This continued through the following the day. It seems a sea view on this occasion was a curse!

Typical english seaside hotel

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: The restaurant staff, the service was fantastic, very attentive. Whether this is because it was quiet I don't know but it was beyond expectation.
Cons: The balcony for my room was waist high glass both sides so it was not private at all, it felt like you were intruding on your neighbours not worth it
Nice hotel on the beach. It is dated but that adds to the charm. It is the only hotel right on the beach and you can fall to sleep to the sound of the sea which is why I stay.

A little disappointing

Posted 16-Oct-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Maintenance and communication about issues
Location: Beach walking
Hotel in great location but heating not working and temporary replacement heater not up to the job. Also pool not available on day we stayed - not told by anyone - notice on door of pool - no reason given. Member of staff did not know reason either. Wrote comments as instructed by receptionist but received no reply as yet.

Great place. Excellent location on the beach.

Posted 25-Sep-2014
Pros: Location. Friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff. Direct access to the beach. Free Wi Fi. Good restaurant.
Cons: There is no lift access to the 3rd floor. No safe in the room. Very easy access to balcony of our room from the roof of the extension of the hotel.
Location: Excellent location. Fantastic sandy beach. Lots to see in the area: Corfe Castle, Durdle Door, Tank museum.
We had an excellent short brake in Dorset. The fantastic location of the hotel, with direct access to the beach made our stay special. We had a great walk along the beach to Bournemouth pier. Next day we visited Corfe Castle and Durdle Door. Only two days and we felt like we had a proper holiday.
